How much are wedding cakes and does anybody know where I can get an inexpensive one? I will have a small cake on display and a sheet cake to serve guests 230. Thanks!

    It really depends on how intricate you want the cake and the design of it.  What's your budget?

    Where are you getting married? I am doing a cupcake cake for around $350 


    They are great and easy to work with. Their cupcakes were like $7 - $8 less a dozen then anyone else in the city.

    My budget on a cake is as low as I can get it. Decorations won't be extravagant, just something simple. I just need a display cake so maybe 100400. Guests will mainly be served from the sheet cake

    I second the rec for Luscious Layers. They did our cake and it was awesome! We had 80ish servings for around $250. Small display cake and sheet cake with the same flavor (or a different one if you want!).

    We're using Dinkel's - $350 for 100 servings in a three tier cake.

    Don't go through Luscious Layers unless you're planning on picking up the cake and driving it to Merrillville itself.  I don't think they'll deliver to Indiana, and if they do, the delivery alone will probably take a huge chunk out of your budget.

    Angel Cakes is actually in Merrillville, and the cakes look really cool!  Probably worth checking out.  From what I can see on their contract on the website, delivery and setup cost looks really reasonable.

    That is a good point. I missed that in her first post. I think you should look for a bakery in the city you're getting married in.
