I can only assume this is in response to me telling Betrothed she doesn't have to fuuck herself anymore?  If that's the case, I agree.

Thank you, everyone, I'm excited to try all these!  I still haven't quite decided which I'm going to do tonight though.  It's between asparagus and greek salad and the avodcado, corn, and black bean salad.  It probably depends on what kind of marinade I get for the meat.

Any more wine recs, now that I have enough side dishes to feed us for a month?

  • Yes!  We just moved from an apartment into a house and I'm so excited to have my own tomato plants.  I love fresh grown tomatoes.  They always taste SO much better than any you buy at the store.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

    Exactly.

Sometimes I'll buy the tomatoes from the store just half-ass hoping they will taste good.  They're always like... meh.  They're ok to put in stuff but never as the "star of the show," I swear I could eat a garden tomatoe fresh off the vine like an apple.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Help me make dinner. : I haven't.  What does it taste like?  I realize that's a dumb question, but can you compare it to something?  Is it rice like in taste and texture? Betrothed, can you give it to me anyway?  I'll save it for future instances of needing a side dish that is not so healthy.

the consistency is like a cross between rice and couscous.  i made the inca red quinoa and it had sort of a nutty flavor to it.  they have a few varieties, and apparently they made a quinoa pasta too... we were losers and looked up the website, they have a ton of recipies that actually look really good.

  • Toss a can of baked beans into a casserole dish. Jazz it up if you want to.

Cut up 4 -6 hot dogs (depending on how many slices you get out of them. Try to cover as much of the beans as possible.

I add a layer of shredded cheddar cheese over the hotdogs, but you could leave it out, or put it on top of the beans, before the hot dog (the beauty of a casserole - IT DOESNT ALWAYS MATTER!!)

Mix up a box of jiffy cornbread (or whatever cornbread mix you have). I add a little extra milk to mine so its a tiny bit thinner.

Spread the cornbread mix over the hot dog layer evenly and carefully.

Bake at the temp on the cornbread mix box. You'll kind of have to guess at the time, and you may have to add time if you use like 9" square dish because the cornbread mix will be thick.

Serve it with ketchup and mustard if desired.

This is my I don't wanna cook go-to. It isn't that healthy, but it's pretty good. I'm sure I got the recipe from one of the Taste of Home magazines, but I have no idea where from.
