dibs - In your siggy pic your H is in a wheelchair, but I think I saw you guys standing/dancing in other wedding pics. Does he only use the wheelchair sometimes?

Oh I have to add to what MH said... I think if he is handicapped it makes you a super special person to be with someone that is handicapped Dibs, you have a kind heart. Just thought you should know

Nope, no offense at all!

He's a paraplegic. He's got some feeling and movement in his legs though. He pretty much always uses the wheelchair with a few exceptions. Usually, if we're going to someone's house that isn't accessible he'll use his crutches or canes. He can walk by sliding his feet (his feet don't get the brain command to bend, which is what's really stopping him from being able to walk normally) and holding on to something.

For the wedding, he really wanted to stand up while I walked down the aisle, while we exchanged vows, and when we walked out of the church. So most of those pictures you'll see him standing with either one or both canes, but there are others where he's sitting in his chair in church. He also wanted to stand up for our first dance. We couldn't really move around much, so we mostly just stood and swayed. Then we had our bridal party join in with their husbands/wives for the second half of the song and he sat down in his chair and I sat on his lap.

Dibs - That's wonderful. DH is def. a determined man for doing all of that. I love that you sat in his lap for the rest of your first dance. So incredibly sweet.

I'm not sure I have any questions. I'm curious as to how old everyone is, but I can kinda judge from past posts, and fb accounts.

I'm 31 and DH is 32.

And thanks everyone. I didn't make a difference to me, but it was really important to him to stand while I walked down the aisle and for our first dance. I'm pretty sure that's all he was stressing over the entire 15 months we were engaged! Everything else for the rest of the day and when we did pictures, we played by ear with what was most comfortable.
