Reviews from May 19 Wedding - LONG!

Hope reviews are helpful. All vendors were great and would highly recommend. If anyone has questions, please let me know.

Chapel of the Flowers (A)
Everyone there was courteous, professional and friendly. The Victorian chapel was lovely and the grounds well maintained allowing for some great photo ops.

Robin, our coordinator, was always quick to respond to emails and phone calls. Needless to say, planning our wedding long distance made me somewhat nervous, but Robin explained packages, services, and answered all my questions.

Rev. Jerry performed a very moving ceremony. Even Richard had tears in his eyes and that does not happen very often.  Rev. Jerry was very professional yet his friendly manner put us at ease and it was like we had known him for a long time.

I loved my bouquet! The COTF florists did a great job in recreating the bouquet from the picture I sent them. Bouquet had pink roses, mini white orchids and white freesia. While it was not an exact copy, I was thrilled with the outcome.

Photography: Our primary photographer was Megan and there was also a second photographer, Julian, who was doing “lifestyle” or more journalistic shots. We loved the photos. I knew I wanted lots of photos so we included photo CD in our package. Because we did this, we were able to get the slideshow CD included for no additional charge. Photo CD contained all images (over 160) in color, black & white and sepia. Unfortunately the journalist style photos were not included on this CD and would have cost another $200. I do like quite a few of those photos, so may buy later. Our photo package also included 53 prints, a 16x20 canvas, 6 –5x7s and 6 – 8x10s.

I would highly recommend COTF! Oh and Tom our limo drive was really great too! Both he & Jerry have been with the chapel for years and these people really know what they are doing. Great Experience!!

Glamsquad (A)I was going to do my own makeup but had major anxiety about this about 2 weeks before the wedding! So I called Glamsquad, talked to Chad and booked them.

Esther did my makeup and she is a sweetheart. As she was going thru the lobby at the Wyndham where I was staying, someone saw her and tried to steal her away from me. Esther told the other bride she had appointment with me but could do her makeup later. Talk about being in demand! My hair and makeup lasted all day. I opted for the airbrush foundation and was very pleased with the outcome.  I liked all the colors Esther used. She did a soft smoky eye with lavenders & purples, then did a neutral check and lip. I was a little surprised at first when I looked in the mirror because I thought makeup looked too dramatic, but in photos it was perfect! Rich also said when he saw me he was amazed at what a beautiful job Esther did.

Bentley & Wilson (A for service, no photos yet)
Well I have not seen pics yet but based on what I have seen from other brides, I am sure Todd did a great job. We had him for a 3 hour photo tour with stops at Bellagio, Venetian, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas sign and several stops at Freemont Street. Todd snapped a lot of photo using 2 different cameras. He was very easy to work with and fit right into our little group. Timing was great when we went to the front of the Bellagio and fountain show started. Can’t wait to see those photos. Todd was even able to sneak some photos in one of the casinos at the slot machine and craps table.  Will posts photos when we get them.

Presidential Limo (driver A/customer service C)Eric was our driver and gets an A. He was extremely professional. Limo was stocked with bottled water, champagne and roses for my sister & I. Eric got us to and from locations in great time so we were able to cover a lot of ground. He helped us in and out of the limo at each stop. He had a very gentle, kind manner.

The reason I gave a C for customer service is because when we arrived in Vegas, I sent an email letting Presidential letting them know what tower # and room # we were in at Wyndham. I got a response back saying they did not have my reservation and asked for my confirmation number. Hello! The confirmation # was right in the subject line of the email and what do you mean you do not have a reservation for me??!! Being told I did not have a limo for my wedding was not something I wanted to hear. Anyway I called and spoke with Dante and he said yes they had the reservation and apologized for the confusion. Phew! Crisis averted.

Top of the World, Stratosphere Hotel (A) – Wow, the view alone is worth the money! It was fun to watch people fly by the window doing bungee jumping or on the ride. Wait staff was very attentive. We ordered from the tasting menu which included soup or salad, appetizer, entrée & desert assortment.  Our entrée included lobster tail, beef filet and duck.  Food was very good and the views stunning.

Wyndham Grand Desert (A) – We enjoyed our stay here and were glad we had units that had kitchens & washer/dryers.  We were in Tower II with views of two of the three pools, one being an adults only pool, which was really nice to have. Registration went smoothly and our room was ready ahead of schedule. The entire resort including rooms were all well maintained. It was nice after being out all day to come back to a less hectic & quiet environment. All staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful.  Special thanks to our concierge, Ira, who was able to get us very last minute reservation at Top of the World for dinner.

Southwest (A) – Did online reservations, very easily. SW had the best prices of any of the other airlines. We opted for the early bird check in, which was nice to be early in line since SW does not have seat assignment and I had 2 dresses to carry onboard. Flying out of Providence, Rich & I had a seat empty between us, allowing us to spread out a bit, much more comfortable this was. Also had an entire overhead bin to put my dresses in. They survived the trip nicely and I did not even need touchups done. Flight was on time with no issues.

Return flight to Providence – we were about 45 minutes into our flight when we were informed there was a medical emergency and we would have to return to Vegas airport. A man apparently had a heat attack! The attendants asked if there were any medical people on board and luckily there was a couple of doctors/nurses who assisted. Even though this caused our flight to be totally screwed up, I was impressed with the way SW flight crew handled the situation and certainly cannot fault them for the delay. If I ever have a medical issue during flight, I hope I have equally efficient and well-trained people aboard.

    Glad everything went so well!

We had a similar experience on our Southwest flight to Vegas!  Someone was having problems breathing and I believe was also having chest pains.  They asked if their was a doctor or nurse on board, and luckily there was a few.

i was at the Wyndham Grand Desert on May 16-20!  what a great place to stay if you have a time share!  i have to agree, having a ktichen and a washer/dryer while on vacation was very helpful.  and, i have to give a shout out to the hotel lobby bar bartenders (Nate especially).  so nice, so funny, and so generous on their pours :)

Congrats!  Thank you for the detailed review too!  I am getting married at the Little Chapel of Flowers too - this October so it was nice to hear your input!  I was also thinking about doing a seperate photographer for pictures on the strip and I was also considering Glamsquad too!  Your review was great and think I am ready to book them too!  Thanks for the info!
