Wow. I definitely wasn't expecting this. After telling them yesterday about my other job offer, Chicago informed me that they gave my job to someone internally. Yep. They gave me a tentative offer, said the job was mine or no ones and that there were just a few formalities to go through, and then gave the job to someone else.
So yep, I'm staying here in Boston with the other job. I'm so angry. I should be excited to have a new job, but I'm so disappointed and pissed with Chicago.

[QUOTE]You know... if they're going to be "that way," it's probably better you found out before you accepted the job. :)

This is a great point. I'm really disappointed for you, but maybe it truly is for the best.
Miss Mrs.
I'm going to focus on the positives though! I have a good job with great coworkers and they WANTED me. We won't have to move and we won't have to worry about selling our condo!

Well, you're already looking at the bright side, so congrats!!
And yay new job!!! You HAVE a job, it's a place you sound excited about, and you may not get the excitment of moving, but you also don't have the hassle. I believe you need a cocktail with lunch to celebrate

honestly, here in boston, i think you would have had ridiculous time tryign to sell your condo.
also, doesnt your H have a job here? would you have moved to chicago with him looking for a job? at least you both have jobs now if thats the case.
[QUOTE]Thanks ladies. I was so upset about this last night. We were really excited to move to Chicago, have more space and hopefully start our family soon. I agree, it is best to find this out now before I got there and they screwed me over after we'd moved. They said they are going to discuss another job with me today, but after what happened, I don't really think that is a place for me to work in. I'm going to focus on the positives though! [QUOTE]Mr. Penny is in school, so it is probably even better that we're not moving. We like it here and we have a lot of friends here. Chicago is pretty much the only place we'd move to, so that we'd be closer to my family. I'm glad i posted this here--all of you are making me feel better :).

Hah! It's not THAT bad! :)
MP, that sucks but hopefully you'll be even happier at your job in Boston than in Chicago. You can always move to Chi-town in the future! I'm glad you're feeling better about it. AK really was correct in that they're probably twatwaffles if they're going to offer you a job tentatively and then give it away without telling you. It probably saved you a lot of heartache and stress in the future!

Artemis, I liked living in Kentucky. And I presently live in Boston. I have family and friends in Kentucky, and property values are much more sane there. You're really not giving credit where credit is due.

I gritted my teeth through my response. Somebody knocked Kentucky in a reply to H's FB status yesterday, and I'm still a smidge on edge. Sensitive subject for me.

I feel like anyone who knocks Kentucky has never seen the beautiful horse farms around these parts. I lived in Indiana most of my life and I would take Kentucky any day. I like living in a place where people say please and thank you! :)
