Newbie: September 22, 2012!

Hi Ladies!

I'm new to the board (and newly engaged). My FI proposed to me on 11.15 at our first date spot. It was perfect. We just told his entire family on Thansgiving and the response we received was incredible. Everyone is so happy for us and so welcoming of me...they can't wait for me to be (an official) part of their family.

For those that want to know more....

We met in June of 2010. I had a feeling that it was time for a change and I followed my heart and moved to San Diego from Boston. I left Boston alone, on Tuesday night/early Wednesday at midnight and arrived in San Diego on Friday around 5:30pm. On Monday, I started my job and that is where we met. He is a sales manager for that company. I no longer work for that company, but I'm sure glad that I got that job! Things moved pretty fast with us. He just turned 30 and I am 28. Neither of us could imagine a time when we didn't have each other and we are so excited and blessed to be able to spend the rest of our lives together. The wedding will be in San Diego on September 22.

    Congrats! That's so sweet =) And welcome to the best board on TK date twin! We have a lot of fabulously supportive and sweet women on this board so I know you'll fit right in!

    What type of wedding are you guys thinking about? Or have you gotten to that yet? lol!

    Yay! A date twin!!! Thank you ladies!

    We have gotten pretty far actually. We picked our venue, it's the Ultimate Skybox at Diamondview Tower in Downtown San Diego. Really modern, but timeless, and simple feel. We finalized our photographer today and he is sending out the contract tonight! So exciting.

    And, I actually bought my dress last night. I love it! I saw a picture of it online, sent it to a woman at Demetrios and bought it. It was the first dress I tried on. I loved everything about it! It really is everything that I imagined it would be. I tried on some other dresses that I picked out just to be sure, and I kept going back to this one. When I put it back on at the end, I just had that feeling and said that it was my dress! 

    Now a day later, I'm feeling regret. Should I have tried on more dresses? Gone to other dress shops? Did I sell my short by buying the first dress I tried on and not going to other places?\

    Is this feeling normal? I feel like a crazy person!!! haha.

    Any input is appreciated!

    Ok, I feel better. There were 2 at the end that I was going back and forth between. Here are some pictures...don't mind me, I had just come from a very long day at work...I wasn't planning on trying on dresses, it was random that I found this dress. :)

    I much prefer the dress you picked. I think it is more timeless and in 20 years looking back you won't think "why??". Think what our parents must have thought about their dresses back in the day ;-)

    Welcome to the September board, the ladies on here are the best!!! Always good to have another date twin, DD is on the 22 also. So far everything but the DJ has been taken care of. Received all of the paper products in the mail this past weekend so we will be getting the STD's ready to mail next month, then will start on the invites! Lucky we have a big (empty!) attic to store all this stuff as we get it finished!

    BTW, the ladies have been super about welcoming me .... even though it's DD not me who's the bride!

    Love your dress!!! We only went to one place (they were going OOB) and DD fell in love with the last dress she tried on, she looked in the mirror and cried! When it's the right dress you know and it doesn't matter if it's the first or 50th one, or how many places you looked at. Just MHO
