Hey ladies. SO DH and I have found a townhouse and we close on March 11. Our family and friends were so generous at my shower that I got a lot of new things to replace our old ones. Dishes, Pots, glasses, utensils ect. I was thinking about donating to the salvation army, but they dont seem to have one anywhere near me. Does anyone know of a similar place? I live in central jersey looking for pick up not drop off. Any suggestions will be awesome.
Re: NWR: Salvation Army or something similar
Being married is a real thriller!
http://www.imunique.com/. You have to call and get the number of their pick up/drop off company, I believe.
New Jersey
Also, you can go onto www.freecycle.org.
And there's a place called The Lord's Closet on Route 22 in Whitehouse.
RSVP Deadline: June 15, 2011
Good Luck.. I will be doing that soon also as we are moving in March...

... unease in the non-profit community about how Unique Thrift obtains its eclectic merchandise.... Goodwill and the Salvation Army directly receive donated goods, privately train their workers to sort and restore the goods and then sell them out of their own stores, keeping overhead at a minimum.
Unique is not a charity. It is a massive for-profit business that contracts with charities to pick up and buy their donated goods at bulk rates and keeps whatever it makes on resale, according to the company and the charities.
Just something you should know about. It's probably a great place to shop, but perhaps not someplace you should donate to. Directly, anyway. Do Goodwill instead.
