Just wondering where/when Catholic couples are taking their pre-cana classes, and if I will run into anyone when I start mine in September!

    FI and I did the engaged encounter.  You go away for a weekend and get it all taken care of at once.  We prefered to do that, instead of going to a class every week.

    My FI and I are going to do the sponsor couple and I actually need to get on the ball for sending in the paperwork and such to do this. Where are you taking the pre-canna classes?

    Ctigna, I'm taking my pre-cana classes at Sacred Heart in Glyndon.  It's 3 Sundays for 3 hours each (one in Sept & 2 in Oct).  If you don't end up doing the sponsor route, do the classes with me!

    My fiance and I are doing our reception at the Hyatt in Cambridge next April. We'd like to do the ceremony at a Catholic church but are finding problems becaus either churches either require you be a long-time member or bring your own priest. We live close to DC so hate to ask a priest to travel all that way. Any tips?

    Becky - if you can find a church close to the Hyatt that would allow you to use the church but bring your own priest, I would definitely recommend at least asking your local priest if he would be wiling to travel.  It can't hurt to ask!

    I need to get on the classes thing we don't have much time left.  My fiance and I were both raised Catholic but we are both finding it dumb that we have to do this.  Anyone else feel this way?
