Royal Lahaina Resort

I just booked the Royal Lahaina Resort for our final night in Maui (we're staying at a timeshare condo in Kihei for the first 7 nights).  It looks lovely on the website, and I got it for a great price through Priceline.

Has anyone stayed here?  Did I choose wisely?  It's so hard to plan from far away!

we got it right the second time around! ten.twenty.twenty-ten. Anniversary

Embrace, I haven't stayed here, but I checked it out on Trip Advisor and people seem very happy with their stay there.  I always check TA, there are some people who will complain about anything (really, I think you could put them in heaven and they would find SOMETHING to complain about!), but for the most part I find the reviews on that site to be very helpful.

It looks like a beautiful place!  I hope someone can give you more info on it, but it looks great from what I am seeing and reading from people who have stayed there.

My DH and I stayed here in one of their suites....and most of our wedding guests stayed here for at least 4-5 nights for our wedding last year.  The people and the hotel were just lovely.  We preferred not to be in a mega-resort, but to still stay in a nice place, and the RL fit the bill perfectly.  It's also just north of black rock, which means you are still nicely located on Kaanapali, but also away from some of the congestion south of black rock.

Enjoy!  I think you will love it.  We would definitely go back.

We are also using the Royal Lahaina as the base for our wedding guests for our wedding next year and we stayed there earlier this year and scouted the different types of rooms. Like SkyyBC we really liked its location on Kaanapali - being close to the main action but being on a quieter stretch of the beach. We found that the tower rooms were definitely comparable in decorating standard to the Sheraton (which we also scouted) but more reasonably priced and the higher levels had better views. I personally prefer the tower rooms as they were more recently renovated than the cottage rooms, and if I recall correctly, the oceanfront cottage rooms were on the ground floor so there wasn't much in the way of views as compared to the oceanfront tower rooms. Hope that helps!

we got married on The Villas Lawn its a semi-private oceanfront location offering panoramic views of the neighboring islands of Lanai and Molokai. you cant go wrong with the royal lahaina. also choose amy johnston as your wedding coordinator...she is ammmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing....our wedding day was stress free because of her.
