Special Religious Ceremony if any at your Wedding: We're having a Covenant Marriage Ceremony (www.covenantmarriage.com for more info, www.covenantmarriage.com/ceremony.php for ceremony "scripts"), we're doing the Cord of Three Strands, one of our pastor's is giving a Gospel Message during the ceremony, and in memory of my Grandfather, who was a member of the Gideons for years, (the people who put the Bibles in the hotel drawers, etc) my dad, who is a current member, is giving New Testaments to our guests as they come through the receiving line.

For the board, I'm hoping we can keep this board uplifting and encouraging. I've noticed a lot of the other boards can turn quite negative when someone gives a suggestion...so if we can stick to Ephesians 4:29, I think we'll be just fine.

Stranded Cord, etc. - We had a worship band play worship songs before the ceremony, planned to do the 3 strand cord but (long story) we didn't, read 2 scriptures (one with a mini sermonette about the benefit of having Christ welcomed into our marriage) and had a charge to the congregation asking them to support us (including praying for our marriage).

Suggestions for this Board
I don't do a lot of posting on other boards, mostly lurking...just because I really don't like the way some of those girls rip people apart. I would love for this board to be more of a kind, encouraging board, with valuable advice and support. I think the way to get more people over here is to post about all kinds of things (not just Christian-related topics) but to respond to each other in a Christian way! I love the open ended posts, like a topic of the day, or a show me post. I think that will really encourage people to post more.

I think that is a wonderful vision for this board! I also lurk on other boards and have seen the negative responses some people get. I am a newbie poster, but would love to be able to encourage others through the knot.
