[QUOTE]In Response to Re: need help getting control of my bridesmades : See this is what I am saying! Your bridesmades "made up" their minds as soon as they said yes to work for you in the wedding! Honey, the best bet here is to get them all together, calmly explain that this is the most important day of your life, and it will be in theirs too, whether they like it or not. Two years out is hardly anything these days. In fact, I say push it to 2022. Ten years might give you enough time to put together an event worthy of you. Also, at that get together, force them to bake and decorate the cake right then and there. Just toss it in the fridge until the reception. The best cakes are properly aged.

Heatheremelody, I think I love you.
  • hi so i just got engaged n i was really exited up til now cuz my so called friends bridesmades suck. they said they wanted 2 b in it n r exited n stuff but now they wont pay for the dresses cuz they said they dont like them n r expensive. they also wont do like other stuff like lern the dance i want n do the crafts n stuff for me n the cake. im like y say u will be bridesmade? u do no its a "brides made" for a reson lol. but so like what do i say 2 make them do stuff?

WOW!  Have you even talked to them about price range of the dress?  Possibly they aren't comfortble putting out as much money as the dress.

Learn a dance, bake the cake, do crafts?!  All they have to do is get the dress and be there the day off everything else is just icing on the cake.  News flash, no one will be as excited for your wedding as you!

I always want cake. Now I want two year old vintage cake...and now I want wine.
  • Wait a minute, this sounds a lot like my son's father's current wife.  Is that you?  Are you planning a wedding do-over?

Actually she was called Troll...so technically yes, she was called a name. And just because her typing style isn't the greatest choice does not mean that you ladies have attack her.

You probably shouldn't have asked these girls to be in your wedding until closer to the date because a lot of things can happen between now and then. But you already asked them so there really isn't much you can do about that now. If your wedding isn't until 2014, then you should wait until closer to your wedding to pick them out. Styles change and so do the sizes of females lol. I understand that you are excited about the wedding, but some things you need to wait on. If you haven't already, you could think about what colors you want to use as your theme. Maybe get an idea as to what type of wedding you want to have (outdoor, church, ect.). Things like that.

I'm new here as well, and I have gotten some great advice. Don't let the negative things some people on here say discourage you from using the resources available on here. I don't know how far out the wedding month boards go, but if you could find your month and year on there, I would strongly recommend you seek advice from them. The girls from my board are wonderful and I'm sure yours will be as well.

Good luck to you and all your planning!

Well, if you want to get technical, Troll isn't even really an insult. Trolls are trolls by choice, they think it's hilarious! And being called a troll is not nearly as bad as being called a b!tch. I don't really appreciate it, especially since I wasn't one of them calling her a "name".

If you read the rules on here, it clearly says to refrain from text speak. Some of us more literate people don't like to have to figure out what people are saying because they are too lazy to type everything out, or use the spell check button which is conveniently located at the bottom of the text box.
  • Do the rules state that if a person doesn't refrain from text speech that you are then entitled to attack the person? I don't think so.
