I am back to work soon - this week can't end fast enough but VERY happy to be getting a new roof today (DH is staying home for that). It is also going to be nice out, so all my driving around will be less painful.
Also I forgot to get a cupcake for my boss' birthday today. Thank goodness the person who was supposed to get a card remembered. We're going to take her out to lunch today too. I HATE forgetting things.
Good morning! Today is day three of finals! Just one more to go after todays, which is anatomy and physiology. Tomorrow is microbiology, then I'm done until summer term kicks off on June 6th!

I get to find out this afternoon if two days of working on an experiment actually worked. Crossing my fingers otherwise that will be incredibly obnoxious. On a better note, I am taking Friday off from work so only today and tomorrow to get through
Good morning. I was late to work this morning because of a truck that broke down on the busiest street in town in the middle of morning commute traffic. That definitely did not start my day off well.
We found out yesterday that even though FIL will be finished with the 21 day round of antibiotics, H still can't be around him. H is really upset about it and I don't know what to do to make it better. This is the first really big medical roadblock we've had to deal with. We have to go down to his parents for a graduation next weekend and we'll only get to see his mom. I think we're just going to go down for the day (which sucks because its 2.5 hour drive each way). H's parents want to pay for a hotel but I don't feel right taking them up on it, so we'll see.
Gah, all in all this week sucks. Where is the weekend?
Its a gorgeous day here today but my allergies are bugging me so its a trade off lol. I don't have much to report other than how freaking awesome I've slept the past 3 nights, we changed over to our summer comforter and we should have done it ages ago. Such a little change and it made such a difference.
Happy Wednesday! Pirate, I'm so ashamed that vote passed. Now we all have to band together and work on getting it repealed. It's a sad, hateful day in NC.
I dropped my car off at the dealership today for servicing, and it's going to cost me $500. Oh, barf. Why is it that when you're trying your absolute hardest to save, all the expenses seem to show up then?
I also woke up with an eye infection or a stye or something. My left eye is all swollen and I look like a freak. Three more sleeps til the weekend....three more sleeps til the weekend...
Morning everyone. I slept funny last night so my neck really hurts.
I'm also really angry because rumors are flying that Gov Walker is going to sign a bill that requires schools to teach abstinence only education. Don't get me wrong, I think abstinence is great for those who do it, and it's what I will be teaching my own kids, but seriously? You're going to tell a bunch of hormone-filled teenagers to not have sex? They're going to do it anyway, but this time ill informed about the consequences of unprotected sex. At least give them the tools/knowledge to have safe sex, because for 99% of the kids out there, they're goign to do it anyway. Blegh.

Micro has been interesting, my prof. is a retired ER doc. It's a lot of memorization and reading. The labs were fun too! Good luck...summer term is always so hectic!

Thanks! I agree with your statement. I encourage abstinence in my girls, but I remember being a teen too...so I talk to them about both. I can't control what they do outside of the home, so I want them to know their options just in case. There were three pregnancies at my eldest daughters school this year
Concert last night at Red Rocks was awesome! Ted Nugent was pretty good, REO Speedwagon was really fun and Styx was AWESOME! And, Red Rocks is the best place for a concert. The natural acoustics are amazing. However, since it was on a "school night", I'm tired as fuuuck this morning. Good Wednesday all!
I had a great run this morning. It was a nice stress-reliever. We've been dog-sitting H's friend's 2 large dogs since Sunday (the guy is deployed) and they're driving me insane. They're both quite large (50+lbs, one is an American Bulldog mix, and the other is half German Shephard and half rottweiler) and they're very stinky, even though we gave them both a bath before even letting them in the house. Our whole house stinks like dog, and there's hair everywhere. I've been sweeping everyday.
One of the dogs has a skin condition so she's constantly chewing on herself, to the point where there's no pad on her back right paw, and her skin is all inflamed. I know H's friend has taken her to the vet numerous times to no avail (no mange, nothing). We've been giving her Benadryl in the meantime, but I'm seriously thinking it's cone-of-shame time.

I don't think teaching abstinence to teens is bad as long as it's not the ONLY thing you're teaching. I hope those are false rumors, chels.
Pirate - NC voted to ban gay marriage, right? That is so sad
I haven't seen you around these parts in a while Lenore! Did I miss something, are you okay?
I'm sitting here eating cinnamon nut bread at my desk. I don't have an assignment for another hour or so and my mom and sis are in town today, so we will go to lunch. Yay.

He gets back sometime next week, not sure which day yet. It's a struggle for us because before now, we didn't even have a goldfish. So going from no pets wjatspever to two large, high-energy, needy dogs has been a bit overwhelming. I was over it about 3 hours after we picked them up. H's friend's roommate was watching them until he also got deployed last week, so that's why we're watching them in the meantime.
This dude owes us big-time, though. He needs to take us out drinking at the Hard Rock or something lol.

At least it's not for much longer! I totally get that it's a big adjustment going from no pets to 2 dogs. I say that drinks at the Hard Rock will be well earned! We are going to Ft Lauderdale next week to visit my ILs and I'm trying to convince H to the HR casino one night to drink and gamble a bit. I think I will need it just to escape from my ILs for a few hours.

Morning!
Meghan, poor doggie! I am nervous for h and I to get pets because I've never been solely responsible for a pet. My in laws just got a great Dane puppy though and he is adorable so it's tempting!
I've been pretty much AWOL over here for the past month or so. I am now a certified teacher, graduating Saturday, and looking for a job!
I was wondering where you were, little miss Sere. Congrats on finishing school! That is very exciting And best of luck to you looking for jobs. IT'S WAR OUT THERE

I'm still upset about last night's vote here.
