FI's aunt just wrote on his wall to count on her and her best friend coming to the wedding. We didn't invite her with a guest and the church is really small as is our reception budget. I don't mind an extra if it it allows once the RSVPs come in. Is it ok to tell her "We cut things pretty tight and did not plan on you bringing a guest. We'd really like to accomadate you but we need to see how the #s look when the RSVPs come in".

Saying that is fine, but definitely call her instead of FBing.
I was in a situation like this where 2 people RSVPed with a guest early in the process and I told them the same thing, that I would like to accomodate their guest, but I would have to see how the numbers turned out by the RSVP deadline. They were understanding.
