The paper (Help with Vistaprint)

I've seen a lot of talk about vistaprint on this board. I want to get programs and menu cards but haven't found a template i like. How do i make my own template? How was your experience using vistaprint? delivery, cost, etc...

    I would post this on DIY or Budget, those girls deal with them alot.

    I've bought magnets off of them so I'm not help. They were pretty quick with the delivery.

    Also, sign-up for their newsletters, you will get an email every.single.day. but there is alot of free stuff.

    I used photoshop and illustrator to make all of my stuff.  I always choose the slow shipping just because for everything I've ordered I've done it well before I actually needed it, and I've always received my stuff early anyway,

    As far as cost, sign up for e-mails and you'll get a lot of free stuff.

    They tell you how to set up the margins in Photoshop to be compatible with their printing for all their products.  There was another document I found that had a ton of info about compatibility, but I can't remember where it was.  Look around their site, you'll find it.

    I was really happy with my STDs that I designed in PS and had them print.  They were 4" x 6" photo cards, printed on both sides.  The back was just black and white and they cost me $0.50 a piece.  Sweet!  The only thing I was sad about was I used the color profile they suggested, but my blue border was more sky blue than teal when actually printed.  Oh well, close enough!

    Oh yeah, and definitely order early!  The first time I ordered from them (holiday cards I think) I got them in 1 week with the economy shipping.  So for the STDs, I thought the same but for some raeson they took like 2 weeks.  I was annoyed since they were alraedy a bit late.

    Also, they rip you off on shipping.  The economy method was $15!!!  But their products are cheap, so I guess you break even.  I didn't realize that until after I designed everything, too late to stop.

    Oh and in terms of quality, I was REALLY happy with my STDs!  The cardstock was heavy, the photo print was really sharp, and I think it is so cool you can add text to the back.  I guess they aren't really photo paper (like shutterfly, you can't print on the back), but they came out awesome!  Wish I had a pic to post...
