to discuss the Halloween candies you'd like to purchase for distribution this year? This is H's first Halloween living with me, and I wanted him to give me some input.
Last year, at Thanksgiving, my sister gave me a bag of all the candy my nephews don't like, and they included the Smarties rolls of Sweet Tarts, and I became addicted. I think I might buy some of those this year. I found Hannah Montana candy bracelets when I was at a Wal-Mart in St. Louis a couple of years back, and holy crap, those were popular with the kids.
If I get Sweet Tarts, I will have to stick to fruity candies, because I do not like the smell that a chocolate/fruity candy mix creates. It either has to be all fruity or all chocolate. I guess I could get two bowls and separate them. Like a kosher kitchen.
I could go on and on about this subject.
Re: Is it too early
Thats usually the type of stuff I buy.
Well, and candy corn. MMMmm

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

All I know is that I buy a bag of white chocolate peanut butter cups, they are long gone before the first doorbell rings.
I've never lived anywhere where kids came to the door. At the house I grew up, it was a dirt trail with no streetlights and only 1 other house, so people were too afraid to go there at night in the dark.

That cannot possibly be an unpopular opinion.

ick - me either, and i always get weird looks from people when i say that. we do the placating-the-neighborhood-kids-with-candy thing too, since we had a bizarre tire-slashing incident on my street like 3 years ago.
*sigh* i love halloween.
We have Beggars Night here, where they go out on a school night, for a set time - usually 7-9 (or maybe 6-8, I don't remember). There's always 2 cars in the driveway if I'm home, so they're going to ring the bell. It didn't bother Maggie last year, but it will drive Max insane this year. Maybe I'll take him for a ride.
Then, you're free on Halloween, to have adult parties, etc. Apparently, that's the way it's always been done here, since J and his sister were kids.
Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
I have never in my adult life been home to give candy to trick-or-treaters, except my first year out of college when I lived in a 3rd story apartment. I was so sad that no one came to my door.
My favorite was always the Willy Wonka mixed bag, so I'll probably get that this year and pretend to be disappointed that I have to eat the whole bag myself.

I might buy just a small bag of smarties boxes and hand those out. I need to be prepared this year.
I always wanted to be the badass who handed out full size candy bars. Someday.
