Beer Poll

We get to pick out beer that goes on tap, we choose two. I want Sam Adams Summer Ale, what would you pick as your second?

That's cool! I'd go with Miller Lite, something general that most people seem to like

summer ale and blue moon are my faves....but I would chose a miller light or bud light as the 2nd, as more people probably drink that stuff.

for us it would have been corona and heineken hands down. unless they could do red stripe. then it would be corona and red stripe

I would assume you venue would have miller lite bottles.  If not then I would pick that.  I would say that blue moon and number 9 fall into catagories of fruity summer beers along with summer ale.  If I were picking I would go with something darker or maybe something local for the second.  Maybe like a traditional Sam or Yeungling.

Popular stuff in my personal circle is Coors Light, Miller Lite, Yuengling, Heineken, Bud Light and Amstel Light. That's out of the popular beers, anyway. FI and some other friends prefer more out-of-the-ordinary beers.

I wouldn't do both Sam Summer and Blue Moon because they're too similar.  Stella maybe?  Amstel?  I'd pick something that isn't that fruity.

Something on the dark/porter side since you already have something on the light side.

Blue Moon was a huge hit at our engagement party I remember. It was all out before anyone even touched the Heineken or Corona.

I agree with pp if you are only going to have tap beer then I would have a light and a dark and if you are going to go with Sam summer then stay in the local brew seeing how sam is in Boston maybe do a Brooklyn.  They have some great beers.

I agree with pps who say it's better to pick a darker, and less fruity beer.  I'd go with Yuengling.

If you only have beer on tap...I would make sure you have a bud lite, miller light, etc.   I know a lot of people that only drink those, including myself, so I would be a little disappointed if one of those wasn't available.

    Mmm Blue Moon.
It takes Shakespeare, a genius, to come up with "He dies." And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with dysphoria. And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words "He dies." but because of the life we saw prior to the words

Definitely something plain/neutral tasting like Miller Lite, possibly something darker like Yuengling. You have to remember some people don't like fruity beers (like my FIL). I even know a few people who boycott Sam Adams in general b/c of the Opie & Anthony thing with people having sex in St. Pat's cathedral - which was sponsored by Sam Adams.

I would say pick one of the regulars like Miller Lite, Coors Lite (hate that), or Bud Light.  If you don't want a light beer, then Bud is the way to go.  Then you can pick one of the more unique beers.  People need a staple though.
