Checks! and 1 Disappointment :o(

Here's a list of the things that we've accomplished up until now.  I think we have some big ones out of the way but a long way to go!Check 1:  We have a preliminary guest list including both sets of parent's lists.Check 2:  We have our budget established.Check 3:  We picked our venue and date, the Inn at Oneonta on 10-2-2010!  This is a big one so we're excited.  I still need to get them our deposit and contract this week before it's final.Check 4:  We asked my two little girl cousins Sam (4) and Ari (2) to be flower girls.  Sam was thrilled, Ari said "nope".  We told her to think about it and get back to us.  I guess that's what happens when you ask a 2 year old.  Fortunately, she does everything her big sister does...Check 5:  I started dress shopping.  With the help of my entourage this past weekend, I've narrowed down to 2 dresses.  They are both gorgeous and within my price range.  Yay!  Now I just have to decide between them...Disappointment :o(  The photographer that we had our eye on isn't available for 10-2-2010!  I am so bummed.  We are both very picky about the photos and both fell in love with this one...  Back to the drawing boards here...

    You are really on the ball with things!  I know how good it felt to finally have a venue and a date!  Sorry to hear about the photog not working out.  But if you post your budget and who you were interested in that wasn't available, I'm sure the girls on here can direct you to some awesome alternatives to check out with similar styles.  or you can ask the photog who they would recommend.  That's what i did when one of my first choices wasn't available and I found someone whose style (and price!) worked out great!

    The same thing happened to me with my first choice photographer. I was so disappointed. I just couldn't find anyone in Cinci whose work I loved as much. We ended up getting a photographer from Louisville. Try looking in Columbus and Louisville to get more options. My photographer, Todd Pellowe, travels to Cinci at no extra charge.

    Our first choice was Kortnee Kate.  We just loved their photos from looking online and I've been blog stalking for a couple of weeks, but we didn't have a date yet... We just found Todd Pellowe online and love his stuff too!  Glad to hear that he travels at no additional charge (he's quite pricey already!).  Since the photos are super important to us we might be able to make it work in our budget. Any other recos for photographers similar in style to these two??

    I LOVE bobbi+mike out of Indi but they book way in advance and I didn't find them until after I had paid 50% of my photog fees already.  A lesser talked about photog in Cinci who has a great blog and some awesome photographs is Daphne Photo Studio.  You might like either of those.

    Lindsey, the photographer we originally wanted was Tine Hoffman (TM Photography). Her photography is more artsy and dramatic than Todd's, so I wouldn't say they're comparable stylistically. But they both have beautiful distinctive styles which I feel like I can recognize even without a picture credit. Todd's pictures have an airier, lighter feel. He's an excellent journalistic photographer and I'm hoping he'll capture our special moments beautifully. We booked him without meeting him so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we'll have "good chemistry." We won't have him for long because he is kind of expensive, but photography is so important to me and I wanted photos I'd really love, even if there aren't a lot of them. He updates his blog regularly so you can get a good idea of his work that way. Have you checked out Tine's work? Hope you find a photographer you both love.
