caterer problems

is it possible to get all the benifits of a catererie: tables, chairs, linens, glassware, place settings, coffee service, servers and clean up with out having them provide the food?I really want to have a specific place provide the food but they don't have all the perks of using traditional caterers.does anyone have any ideas?if not how about some good cateres for 125 people with a 5-6k budget?

depends on where your wedding is. But I used Roundz catering. Zach is awesome to work with. www.roundz.com They would work in your budget and provide all you asked for depending on what type of food you want. As for getting all the materials - you can look for rental places or ask the caterer for referral.

I'd start with the event rental places if I were you, I was looking at Capital Party rentals yesterday and their site says they'll provide servers, and they rent all the other usual stuff you're looking for. For an inexpensive caterer R&R Catering has gotten some good reviews and seems fairly inexpensive.  website is www.rrcatering.com and they're having a free tasting on 8/16.  And I know this b/c I was looking for caterer for an engagement party in the fall :)  GL!

i used potomac party rentals and was very happy with them. i did not get any of my rentals through my caterers. regarding clean up, that's a little more tricky. perhaps ask your venue for ideas? maybe you can pay a volunteer group to do it for a donation to their charity (far fetched, but you never know. they park cars at events for a donation, maybe they'd do this. try craigslist). try 'eat a little something catering' for your $5-$6K budget. i believe he's reasonable. good luck!

R&R Catering really is not affordable.  You think that they are because of the prices they advertise but then once everything is added in it becomes ridiculous.  I really wish people would stop spreading around that it is.  Sorry pet peeve of mine ;-)Rental places work well for this.  That's what we are doing.  We got a truly affordable caterer and are renting the additional things from a rental company.
