Alan Ray Bridal! I had a wonderful experience there!

I fell in love with Maggie Soterro while I was searching dresses online...Her dresses range from around 1500-4500, (at least from what I found doing research)...I had appointments made at multiple boutiques around Columbus and Cincinnati to try them on...However all of these places had about a week or two wait to try them on... So after persuasion from my mom I made an appointment at Davids Bridal...I was reluctant to go there because I had built up some image in my head of these off the rack, no name designer dresses..(not sure why I did this, I had no reason to)...anyway they could get me in the next day! So I went...and I fell in love with the first dress I tried on! It was actually exactly what I had been looking for! I told my mom this one was it....She wouldn't let me get it!!!! She loved it too, but thought it was crazy to buy the first one I had tried on...She made me try on all of these other dresses...but guess what?!? I ended up getting the first dress I tried on at Davids Bridal! It is Oleg Cassini style number CRL277....I'm absoluely in love with it, and I got it for $850 instead of the original $1050...(some sort of sale was going on, where every dress in the store was on sale) I went to the one by Easton, and worked with Jen...She was absolutely amazing!  The point of this novel is that, if you have some image built up in your head of needing some expensive designer gown you should still try Davids Bridal...you never know, they made a believer out of me!HTH!

If you don't mind a short drive....Perfect Weddings in Lancaster was wonderful! All the ladies there were so helpful, and everytime I went in for fittings they made me feel like the most beautiful bride ever. (I also had a good shopping at expeirence at Wendy's Bridal.....request Willy, she was amazing.)

This might be a long one... sorry in advance, but I hope this helps some! If you don't mind making the trek, check out Bridal & Formal in Cincinnati. I think it's one of the biggest in the country. There are tons of dresses to choose from and try on -- it can get a bit overwhelming. There are also a few boutiques in the bridal district there that also have dresses like European Bridal. Some of the girls at B&F are really sweet, and others I've seen... not so much. The place isn't like most, as the dressing room is one big room with other brides trying dresses on too (one or two personal ones), but checking out the wide selection was worth it. Bobbi was my last consultant there, and she is the sweetest lady -- peppy, but has been there for years and knows her dresses (I lived in Cincinnati so I went there so often they knew me by name! My mom was in Cbus and could never come, so I had to go, take pics, do the webcam there, go back, etc). Anyways, sounds a bit rough if you've been to some of the other stores that are more personalized and such, but since this was the first place I went to, I didn't know any better. I had a list of Alfred Angelo dresses to try on, and they had them all -- after trying them on, I hated them all! haha, but luckily they have such a huge selection that I found others that I loved (Maggie Sottero and Mori Lee) that I was surprised about since I didn't think they were my style. Before I purchased, I did my research and went to other stores like Wendy's and DB to check them out -- both were great as well, but in the end, I went back to B&F, told them what the cheapest price I found my dress for was, and they beat THAT price by at least $100. Also, they have shoes, MOB, and tons of BM dresses there and you got 20% off all of it. If you can gather a friend or two and go during the week, they're usually pretty slow, but you can make an appt or walk in. On the weekends past noon, it's a mad house, no appts -- you really don't get the attention you need for a first trip. I've been on all days, and each time they didn't seem to mind even though I felt like they should be saying, "there she is again...." :P I didn't have that "THE ONE" moment, and I wanted my mom/sisters to like my dress too, so I spent hours there finding one that would please me and everyone I cared about. :) Phew, sorry for the novel -- HTH though! On the whole, I really enjoyed my experience there, but I know girls that hated it. Good luck on your dress search and keep an open mind! You never know. :)

I just went shopping for my dress this past week, and visited a few shops before I went down to Bridal and Formal in Cincinnati. I had such an amazing experience there! I worked with Cynthia, who really knew what she was talking about when it came to finding a dress that looked great on me--which says A LOT since they have over 4000 dresses there-- virtually almost all designers. I have heard some girls say they got a representative that was clueless, and they just went back another time and got someone else to help them... so luck of the draw?Once you find a dress(which I didnt do all of this, but have friends that did), they will help you with headpieces, and even have a hair stylist on hand to fix your hair in a way you think you might want it on your wedding day to help you decide on your accessories.I ended up getting a Watters dress. The price the dress was listed for was 2100 I think, but they gave it to me for 1500!!!Also FYI to you and all other girls thinking of going here, they price match.  Just go to www.bestbridalprices.com-I didn't need to do this because 1500 was actually less than what was listed on this site for my dress, but just in case yours isn't you can have them match it!HTH! and GL!!

Mine is odd.  I got mine at the Moments of Majesty (Christian book store in Pickerington).  They sell sample size dresses, brand new, never worn, with tags.  I got my Maggie Sottero dress for $500!

I have to put in another good word for David's Bridal. It was the first store I went to and I went there thinking it would be my practice round to warm up to the dress shopping process but I ended up falling for the first dress I tried on (Oleg Cassini CV 273). The service was excellent (Easton location) and while the place was decidedly unglamorous I was very comfortable. I was also impressed with the quality of some of the dresses, which I found in some cases to be equal if not superior to those in other stores. I went to Alan Ray as well, just because I didn't want to buy from the first store I went to and I also had a great experience there (the lady who helped me was super knowledgable and very, very sweet) -- but nothing could beat the price for the quality of the other dress so I went back to DB to buy the first one I tried!

I got my dress at Alan Ray Bridal. I went back two times to try on dresses because I couldn't find "the one". During these visits they were very helpful and never seemed annoyed with me! I recommend them!

Elegant bride in dublin I got my dress half off with the rack ones that they no longer make the style. I loved dealing with them and they took their time and even explained why or why not the dress looked good on you. They had amazing dresses!!

I got my dress at Bridal and Formal in Cinci too! My consultant was Norma and she was the sweetest. The only complaint I had was that I couldn't take pictures of any of the dresses I was considering, only the one I ended up getting. I wish I had pictures of all of them, just for my memory's sake. But it's a pretty common practice in most bridal stores.

I'm actually working with JoAnne at European Bridal in Cincinnati, right across the street from Bridal and Formal. She has been a god-send, and really has made me feel good about myself.
