Weekend Checks

It's been a surprisingly productive wedding planning weekend for me!

I got our "no seating plan" side completed, as well as our guest book. We're 90% sure on our honeymoon location - we just need to finalize and book it. (Hopefully we'll get that done tonight or tomorrow!) I picked out my wedding shoes (they're actually shoes I already own!) and bought the glitter to glitter-ize those. (Found it online. Sure, I may have spent $11 on glitter, but, that's the only thing I have to buy for my wedding shoes. $11 for shoes? Excellent.)

What have you ladies gotten done?

Re: Weekend Checks

  • We completed our registry this weekend and my bridesmaids picked and ordered dresses last week.  We've been moving right along with the wedding stuff. It's so crazy that its only 7 months away.  I remember when it was over a year away!!  haha  Next week it will be 1 year since we were engaged.

  • Hey! I posted in another thread that we registered, but I'll give more info here.

So - yes - we registered at REI on Saturday night. FI wanted to register at a place that had stuff for "him" - the list isn't all that long, but it includes a tent and a pair of binoculars - that sort of stuff. We also added a sleeping bag for myself. I'm not really into camping, but FI loves nature, so it seemed like a good fit for him and we had a lot of fun.

But I forgot to mention - I picked up my dress on Friday night!!

I had tried on the sample in the size I ordered, so I knew that it was going to fit rather well. I'm 5'10" and pretty small, so the dress came in and is the perfect length, and there are minimal, if any alterations. I might want a smidge taken in at the bodice back, but the store wants me to come back in June or July to see. I also need to decide on a bustle then. But, for now, the dress is in my possession (it's actually at a relative's house since my parents/sister/FI's family have dogs and/or children) and my shoes and fascinator were also ready, so I took them home as well.

I will probably wear my sister's veil, but will make the decision when I go back in June/July. (I forgot to bring the veil with me Friday night to try it on with the dress)

    Very exciting!!

  • We had our food tasting this weekend - I'm still full :)
  • You should totally register at Amazon! That way you can put on some electronic type things, as well as some other house-type of items. I also figure that some guests who need to travel might like ordering online. Some like BBB with the 20% off coupon, and Crate and Barrel has decorative items. His family is big on the outdoors, so REI could make sense as well.

We have registered at: Amazon, Bed Bath and Beyond, REI and we plan on going to Crate and Barrel as well.  I don't really care if 4 is too many - he really wanted REI and if that makes him happy, then we'll have 4.

I was looking at that etsy seller - the flowers are very cool!
