Gloves?

So the model pic of my dress, the girl is wearing elbow length gloves and I think it look amazing. My question is, how does that work for the ceremony? Do I take them both off for him to put my ring on? Or just the left one? Or does he just slide my ring over the glove and then I fix it later? I've never been to a wedding where the bride wore gloves!!

Yay! A dress buddy! I thought about wearing them too... And then I realized what a pain it would be.  I wouldn't be able to keep them clean at all!  But what I kind of wish I would have done now is taken some pictures with them.  I also think though that with the look of our wedding, they wouldn't have fit... Our was more fun and bright, and I think gloves give off an elegant vibe... Very classy.  Good luck... I loved the pics of you in the dress :) It's really comfy (well, for a dress...)!

Gloves scream 90s to me.But perhaps they are making a comeback, a friend of mine just wore them. I don't know what she did for the ceremony, in her pics it looks like she is wearing them the whole time.

I have to say I'm not really a fan. If you wanted them though, I'd just take some pics and not wear it during the ceremony, seems like too much trouble.

Hmm I guess I never thought about just taking them off before the ceremony. But that would work. I'll have to actually try a pair on with the dress once it comes in and see what I think, but we're also doing a fairly informal wedding (ceremony will only be 15 minutes or so) full of bright colors and not even a full meal reception. (Sunday ceremony with a 2pm start time) So it might be too formal, but I think I want some pictures in them at least.

A couple notes about the dress too... The hooks that hold the dress closed on the modesty panel in the back are REALLY flimsy (mine were held on with one thread/stitch) and the modesty panel itself was only held on by one thread also.  If I could do it again, I wouldn't get their crinoline at DB's (it was really hot, and not comfortable), I would have had some tulle sewn in during alterations (of you want the full look).  When I did go in for alterations, she changed the hooks in back and sewed them in better, and I really recommend doing that.  Don't get the alterations done at DB either.  Find someone better, there's plenty of rec's on here.  Other than that, the dress was perfect :)

Yea I've heard that DB is not great for alterations and I passed on the crinny she tried to sell me. I figured I could either find a used one on here or ebay, or have tulle sewn in. But thanks for the heads up on the modesty panel. :)

What I've seen a lot of brides do is cut a slit on the palm side of their glove at the bottom of ring finger, then you just slide your ring finger out during the ceremony.
