I was most hoping to get my kitchen aid mixer, and my bridesmaids got it for me... yay! I think my favorite thing is probably either my plates or my throw pillows. The plates are plain white and square, and they look modern and classic all at once. I love them. The pillows are red with this crazy circle design on them. I literally jumped up and down when I opened the box they were in. I am such a dork. Most disappointing.... umm.... probably the people who bought off of the registry. I got a ton of kitchen stuff in multiples that I didn't need and didn't get receipts. I've been happy with everything I got that was on the registry.

I was most hoping to get the Dyson. We ended up getting it with gift cards. My favorite thing so far, other than the Dyson, would have to be the Cuisinart Griddler. We've used it mainly for quesadillas but have really enjoyed that gift. The rice cooker has been very disappointing. His family really wanted us to get one so I put it on there. However, I can cook rice in a pot and it come out way better than the messy, gooey slop that we got when we used it.We only got about five things off the registry so I was pretty happy about that.

I hear so much hype over it and I want to know what the fuss is about! hahaWhat have you gotten that is your favorite thing so far? nothing..we have not registered yet. What have you gotten that has been the most disappointing? nothing...which is disappointing..I like gifts!

We were most hoping to get either the Dyson ball or a stainless steel Calphalon cookware set. We got neither :( But we ended up buying the Dyson on Amazon for a good price. Our most favorite thing (that we didn't buy for ourselves with gift cards), is probably the waffle maker. Mine from college broke about 9 months before the wedding, and I registered for a very nice one that my aunt and uncle bought us. That was the first item that we used as well. Our least favorite was probably this huge salad bowl that weighed like 10 pounds. It was silver and had a very ornate design on the outside, and I am not a fan of busy designs. We didn't register for it, and I don't even know where it could've come from.

I really would like to get the cookware I registered for because I am a cooking fanatic. The most disappointing thing is receiving items I did not register for and there is no receipt. Maybe I should put this on the BM board but why do people get you things you don't want or need? I mean, isn't that the whole point? I registered for things I need/want. Hello!

TCU, I agree with you. I made a big deal about buying something off the registry in front of a friend of mine who is notorious for just buying what she would like to give. We got a GC to BBB from her and felt like a small victory.

What are you most hoping to get?Bedding, knives (that I haven't registered for so that depletes the purpose a bit!) or a new vacuum. What have you gotten that is your favorite thing so far?Haven't gotten anything yet.

We haven't registered yet, but I really want the Kitchen Aid Mixer and a new blender. Our current blender is on it's last legs.

What are you most hoping to get?Cappuchino maker (I would actually use it)Kitchen Aid Mixer--Jay and I have been drooling over this $900 copper one from Williams Sonoma, but we will definitely be registering for a much cheaper version! But look at it in all of it's coppery glory:

Lol, Julie. I understand completely. I know people who are too lazy to go to where a couple is registered and just get whatever. Argh. Aaaand, what really chaps me is that my grandmother of all people, who is Emily Post incarnate, got me something that I didn't register for. But at least it is from BBB and I can take it back. I noticed that all the people who bought a gift off the registry got me things that THEY like.

Marissa, that's awesome! I got the professional (I hate that the artisan doesn't have the bowl lift, the top just tilts back, so I didn't want it). It's so worth every penny.

I most hoped for : dishes from C&BMy favorite thing I got: My Keurig one cup coffee maker. I also lovvve my Calphalon pots and pans and baking dishes...they really mean nonstick. I've had "nonstick" before, but eggs and other things would still stick and burn on. Nothing sticks to this stuff. Most disappointing: Krups rice cooker. It's ok. Seems kind of cheap for it's price and I wish it had different settings on it like "sushi".

Mandasue--this one is only available at Williams Sonoma--I think it is more of a "show and tell" item that something you would actually cook with :) Taking care of copper would suck! I didn't know about the difference between the artisan and the pro--we do a lot of baking, so I will look into that!

What are you most hoping to get? I was most hoping to get enough place settings of my china to cook dinner for more than just hubs and myself. We ended up getting fourteen place settings. (Lenox Chirp-- LOVE it!) Now we're totally set for freakin' ever! (I considered taking some back to exchange for serving pieces, but decided to just keep all of them. Some will surely break over the years)What have you gotten that is your favorite thing so far? My cousin made us a blank scrapbook. She made all of the pages totally cute and scrapbooky, and all I have to do is put wedding and HM pics in it! Genius idea, IMO. We also got an AWESOME serving tray that was off registry. It has these badass giant beads on the handles. I have no idea where it was purchased, but I wants to go there! What have you gotten that has been the most disappointing? Eh, we got a bunch of glassware. Like too much... Not really a big deal, though-- It will just have to stay in the box until we're ready to change things out.

We got our Kitchedaid mixer. I don't know which one it is but ours tilts back to pull out the bowl and the whisk. I've used it a couple of times and like it a lot.

What are you most hoping to get? I was hoping to get our pots and pans...which we got at my company shower! I LOVE them. I was using cheap-o Walmart pots and pans and garage sale pots and pans until we got our nice ones. What have you gotten that is your favorite thing so far? My KA mixer..though I don't use it nearly enough. What have you gotten that has been the most disappointing? I got crap that I did't register for. I got some ice bucket and cups with Light Houses on them (since Steve proposed at the Harbor's light house) and I got a cheap-o picture frame from Linen's N Things that I know was probably $5 on clearance. It also looked like they had just dropped by the store right before the shower and thrown it into a bag they already had. It's like, "couldn't you have put a little more thought into it?"

What are you most hoping to get? I was most excited about our luggage set, and knives and we got both! What have you gotten that is your favorite thing so far? I think my favorite thing is the new coffee pot and grinder. I'm loving getting all sorts of flavored coffee beans and trying them. I'm becoming quite the coffee snob! What have you gotten that has been the most disappointing? I'm really not disappointed in anything we got, I'm disappointed in myself for not using the cookware much!

What are you most hoping to get?DH really wanted the stand mixer, and we were so happy someone splurged and bought that for us - way more generous than we were expecting. We love it.What have you gotten that is your favorite thing so far?Tough call... so many different items and purposes. Love the stand mixer. Love quality wine glasses. Love the Clue boardgame. What have you gotten that has been the most disappointing?Ditto whoever said off-registry things (although I got a few really good ones, too - but those were items that are not typical to a registry and are therefore ok whereas multiple food processors is not).

We made sandwiches once but we need to work on that. Quesadillas are so much easier with it. We can't find the right kind of bread. We want something a little fancier than plain bread.

Even if you haven't registered yet, you can still at least answer one question. :-) What are you most hoping to get? We got our Henckel Knives and KA mixer. What have you gotten that is your favorite thing so far? So much stuff from Pottery Barn that we could exchange for credit. Hello new furniture! What have you gotten that has been the most disappointing? A scale. I know it isn't that weird, but I opened it at my ladies shower and my aunt was like, "I know you're always watching your weight, so now you'll always know. The scale talks to you!" Uh...thanks.
  • edited December 2011
hahaha! That made me laugh, Emi. I don't know if I would have been able to hide my look of shock if I opened up a scale and my aunt said that to me!
