Does a cake have to have a topper?

My cake looks similar to this http://www.instyleweddings.com/weddings/gallery/0,,20281824_20626955,00.html I don't feel like spending $45.00 for a flower thing on top... Do you think the cake would look fine without anything on top?

Will your cake have any of the flowers?I think it would look bare without the flowers. You can go to michael's and grab some silks. it'll cost you maybe $10

I think it would look fine without anything, but if you WANT something, there are cheaper options than $45. You could just sprinkle a few loose flower petals on top, or you can buy a topper at a place like Michael's.

I thought about going to Michaels and finding something cheaper. I will see what I can find. Thanks for the suggestions. I have to go to my final fitting now and I will stop by Michaels after. Thanks Valerie

Very pretty cake.  i agree it will look fine without, and yes, there are cheaper options.  If you don't find silks you like, can you get a few stems from your florist, or pick up some at a grocery store day of?

What a lovely and elegant cake!I personally don't think you need a topper on it.  I think the silk flowers would take away from the look you are going for.

I think it'lll look fine without flowers...but if you want a cheap way to do flowers I'd go to GiantEagleor sam's and just get like 10 bucks worth of flowers that match and put them on top.  Cheap and easy!

It's beautiful. I love it. My florist did our flowers for the cake, and they were less than $45 (and were all orchids - I loved my florist). Ours definitely needed something, and I hated the other toppers. But, you can always pick up a few stems for yourself pretty cheaply.

I am definately going to look into silk flowers at michaels. I just don't have 45 dollars to spend. Thanks for the options!
