Priscilla of Boston Alterations?

Right now I plan on having my Melissa Sweet dress altered by Angie, but wondering if I should hand it over to PoB to do it.  Anyone have experience with both Angie and PoB alterations?

I don't have experience with Angie, but I got my Melissa Sweet dress altered at PoB and was very happy with the experience. Great service and they really went out of their way to work with my schedule, etc (we were in a real time crunch). A week before the wedding, I had put on like four pounds and she managed to take out my dress by an inch at the very last minute.

I didn't use Angie, but if you are concerned about price, Angie is the way to go.  PoB is definitely higher priced (and IMO, overpriced)  I had my dress altered at PoB (in Denver... wedding was in DC) and when I was in the PoB in Tysons (last August), a girl was crying because her alterations damaged the dress.  Hopefully, they don't have that seamstress anymore.

I got my BM dresses there and had Estee alter them.  When we were in there a girl told us they messed up their dress and that was enough for me to go elsewhere- and for $60 a dress I couldn't beat the price of Estee.

I definitely love Angie's price.  Hearing about the damaged dresses is definitely enough for me to stick with Angie.  Thanks for sharing your stories!

I don't have experience with either for alterations but I'm taking my Jewel dress and my BM's Vineyard dresses to an outside seamstress.  They were purchased from POB in Wynnewood, PA.  I agree with pp that they are overpriced for alterations.

I am having Angie do my PoB dress. At PoB they told me it would be "at least 500 dollars" which I consider way overpriced. Angie is doing it for 250.
