Hello Ladies,I'm about to start looking for bridesmaids dresses soon and I have a question for you all. My dress is mermaid style. Do my MOH dresses need to be in mermaid style too or will A-Line be fine? What did you all do?
Well, I don't think their dresses have to match yours but that's just me. My bridesmaids will be wearing a variety of dresses from the Dessy, After Six, Alfred Sung line.
My girls get to pick their own dresses as long as they are tangerine. I am extremely not picky, so maybe I should not be the one answering this? Do you want them to wear long dresses? Did you want their style to compliment yours or did you want to stick out and their dresses be subtle? I originally picked the same dress for all of them. Then I found pictures of them and realized that I met at different stages and they have all touched me uniquely, so I let them pick.
The BM dresses don't have to match you in style and they don't all have to be the same style (or color nowadays...is that a word?). It looks best if you can find styles that accentuate each BM's body type in colors from your color palette. Some of the more fashion forward weddings have featured BM dresses that aren't the same style or color but seem to fit the motif and color palette of the day. SO you can have a lot of fun creatively with it.
I don't think that have to match either! Do whateva you want. I'm considering letting my girls pick their dresses and just giving them some guidelines. I want short cocktails with an open neck. It's totally up to you IMO. GL!
Hey Ladies, thanks for all your input. From the beginning I have wanted my bridesmaids to have short cocktails dresses and my MOH's to have long dresses. So I think I will go with my original idea.
I remember the folks at my boutique told me that the tops can't match (i.e. if you have a halter style top, your bridesmaids can get any other style but halter). But honestly, it's all up to you!!
