Hotel block vent.

My dad went through the trouble of finding the best priced, and closest hotel to the reception area (Loveland) and set up a block. We got a disocunted price and a shuttle, but that is only if we have a minimum of 20 rooms. Shouldn't be a problem since both my and FI's families live out of state. Well my dad called to see how many rooms we got and they said 14, and all 14 are from my side. FI's family did not book one room. (I should mention on the invite I clearly put the address, phone # of the hotel we set up a block for) So I emailed FFIL to ask if he knew anything about it and he said from what he knows his family is all stayin at a hotel in Sharonville. What the heck? Am I wrong to be annoyed by this? Especially since I'm pretty sure we just lost the dicounted rate and the shuttle! I just don't get it. And I did check teh prices, and the hotel in Sharonville is the same price as the hotel we have a blcok at, so price was not an issue.

    I should also mention FI's family lives in Loveland and the ceremony and reception are both in that area so Sharonville isn't exactly close to anything.

    That would TOTALLY irritate me!!!!  What made them choose Sharonville????????????  Crazy! Unfortunately, as much as we do to set up cheap rooms for our guests in a block, there is no way to make them get a room there.  BOO ON THEM!

    I would also be mega irritated!!  This is probably why I didn't even bother to waste my time doing this for our guests.  I know, I'm mean.  :)

    Yeah...that would irritate me also!! It just doesn't make sense why they would stay in Sharonville and have to drive to the ceremony & reception when you had transportation for them elsewhere???? People irritate me!! :)

    If they are people that your fiance knows well, I'd ask him to talk with them and request that they switch to the hotel in Loveland. He could explain that the Loveland hotel would be more convenient and enjoyable for them. Make it seem like he is try in help them! Most hotels give you a 100% refund if cancelations are a few days ahead of time. I think you are very right to be annoyed! What they did makes no sense! Good luck!

    FI is just like "don't yell at me, it's not my fault" kind of attitude so I don't think he is willing to do anything to help. I think we're just stuck at this point. My dad is going to look at other hotels and maybe try to threaten to switch... if that will do any good.
