Fashion Crisis

I need something to wear to this-  http://www.danceherenownyc.com/govisland/  It will be in the 70's, might rain for a few minutes, and will get cold at night.  Sandals and heels are out of the question because it is on grass and sand.  Option 1-    with a black skirt to the knee, kind of a line, possibly black tights, minimal accessories and black Lanvin ballet slippers  Option 2-    with a very chunky gold bracelet or big gold jewelry and no idea for shoes, very Joan Collins 80's thing  Option 3-    with no idea for jewelry and black Lanvin ballet slippers

Re: Fashion Crisis

• I love all three, but I'm partial to the first two.
• I'm very partial to animal print.  rawr.

• I don't love any of them... I would want to wear black shorts and a cute top. and NOT sleeves... Maybe a cardigan for the evening, but I would hate my life with sleeves during the day.
• I guess it depends on what temperature your comfortable at and whether you like having your arms exposed. I never wear sleeveless tops, ever.
• Oh, and I didn't mean I don't like any of them... I meant for the occassion you described!
• It would be easier to have something without sleeves but there is no place to put anything.  A lot of people bring bags and put them down to dance but they end up loosing things.
• I like number 2 best. Do you have any black or gold wedges to add a little height. That length skirt could cut you off in a weird place without the extra height.
• Personally, I would wear #1, partially due to the raviness of the event.

• I have a few shoes with a little wedge.  I'm tall so I thought it might fall shorter on me since a lot of dresses do or I'll hem it.
• If you are going to a rave, #1.

• Shhhhh!  Lanie, this is not a rave, it is an outdoor party with a lot of trance far away from everything.
• I always wear/use a slingbag when I go out so I don't have to worry about that stuff.... put the cardigan in the bag, or I tie it around the strap haha.
• three:)

• Psha, obviously it's not a rave, if it were you would have to call an infoline, go to a map point, and caravan with some kid named fulffernut to find the damn venue. You suck it hard btw, I've heard calderone gets downright hawtinesque. Makes me sad no good music comes here :(

• For that party I would do #1, but maybe with leggings and Lanvin flats.  Knee length skirt and flats may look too conservative.  Or I love #3.  #2 looks more restaurant/cocktail lounge.

• The skirt isn't really knee length, it is hard to explain, has a fitted band and then poofs a little.  It is cute and not conservative.  I like the second one and you're right, it looks oldish to me but my idea is to buy it and give it cleavage then take it up.  The last one is very versatile.  Did you say Hawtinesque, you are going to hate this line up-  http://www.electriczoofestival.com/  I think you can go, you won't be that pregnant.
• Are you trying to make me cry E?? F*cking bully. If we weren't about to put an offer in on a house I'd be there in a second.Hawtin was actually here on the 4th of july, he was supposed to play at some cheesy club but they switched it at the last minute to an old school warehouse. I was sick the whole day and in bed by 9. This kid is going to owe me.

• Just get a little bigger mortgage and you could fly up for it.  It isn't that much if you consider what you get and how many djs.  It is like many parties at the same time.  Sadly, I am already planning what I am wearing.
• Eh, it's not so much a money thing as it is a packing and moving thing. I should really start packing before we even make an offer, it's pathetic how much crap we've shoved in a 1300 sq ft apt.Maybe I could just tell Pete I'm pregnant and fragile so I can't pack, and I think it's best if I just get out of his way for a weekend so he can take care of business.

• That sounds like a good idea.  You really shouldn't carry things and being in the way would be bad.  You should also let him know that you are craving bagels, real pizza, and a cupcake tour.
• I'm jealous you're going to see Calderone...he came to DC and I missed it. #1 would be best with leggings. For me, I'd probably just wear my black pseudo-hip flat shoes with velcro closures that I always wear to concerts...no reason to trash nice shoes at a place where people don't see your feet, and I really like to dance and don't want to have to worry about ppl stepping on my toes.Honestly, though (and maybe NY is difft from DC) they all look a bit dressy and/or hot.  For an event like this I'd probably go to Benetton or Club Monaco or similar and get a cute knit sleeveless long-line top to wear with jeans or leggings.  If you're worried about being cold before the concert, bring a hoodie and make your husband hold it for you once you start dancing :)
• I like choice 1 most cuz its more club looking which is what that dj is. The other 2 are too dressy.

• btw, I'm fully aware that no one with an IQ over 70 would take fashion advice from a person wearing matching B-party t-shirts in her siggy pic.
• The first looks tunic length and I agree, it would look good with leggings, probably capri lenght.  If it is longer when I put it on, then I'll probably wear capri leggings.  I am tall and some shirts that look long can fall a little shorter on me.  Thanks for the help everyone!
• I forgot to mention, AC, yes a lot of parties can be very dressy and it is hard to know ahead.  That is why I want to wear something that can work in a more casual and a dressier place.
• The people in the picture on the website aren't even wearing shirts..I think you're ok in the dressy department. ;)

• lol, those pics are from a beach party last year.  People will be dressed there, the city has rules about that and they will be monitoring people.
• Darn it I was gonna get a ticket just so I could run around shirtless..I guess I'll just have to stay home that night and run naked up and down my hallway instead. Sigh..
