PLEASE TELL ME...

there's a way to unseal envelopes. I did the dumbest thing EVER last night! I sealed my invites w/out putting stamps on the rsvp envelopes. Please tell me someone knows how to fix this!

While I have never tried these techniques, I read these in books over the years: 1)  Steam the envelope seal with the steaming function on an iron. 2) Freeze the envelopes, and that's supposed to make the glue brittle and opened easilyBear in mind that neither of these suggest what to do about REsealing those envelopes.  Honestly, you can buy extra envelopes failry cheaply-- thay may be the best way to fix this.  GL!

Oh man!!  I don't know how, but I feel your pain!!  If you can't reseal them (assuming you reopen them nicely), you'll have to readdress them too!  Have you put postage on the invites yet???  That would suck, too! Maybe....Just forget about the postage for the rsvp envelopes.  I know that's not how you wanted it to be, but it may just save you a huge headache.

Don't fret.  It's totally doable.  I sealed all my calligraphied envelopes, and THEN realized that I'd put the bellybands on the invites weird, freaked out, and opened everything. Any of the methods above would work, but I wouldn't recommend steaming because it will warp the envelope.  Freezing is probably your best bet, though check to see if you can actually just pull them apart carefully (I could). As for re-sealing, find yourself a glue stick.  That will work fine. gl :)

You can also purchase envelope moistener with adhesive to reseal.  Good luck.

Thanks girls! I have one in the freezer now, so cross your fingers! I think this was my first bridezilla moment. I went off on FI after this happened last night, even though it was not his fault, but he could have shown some concern or something! All he did was stare at the tv! I'll keep you guys posted!

I did a similar thing 2 weeks ago (although, not quite as bad)...I put .27 cent stamps that I had left over from our STD's on the RSVP post cards.  Then after they were all sealed and ready to go, I realized postage had gone up  to .28 cents (I used forever stamps so I never really pay attention when it goes up).  I FREAKED!  I was sobbing and refusing to do all of that work over again.  Then I realized that they were addressed to us and no return addresses were on them so luckily they will still come to me, I just have to go to the post office and pay .01 cents each time one comes in!When I was in my freak out stage, I was told by 3 people that steaming envelopes will unseal them.  Luckily I never had to find out if it works....GOOD LUCK!  And know that you're not the only one out there that has made these mistakes!  Let us know how it works out!
