DIY Venue Help

So, it looks like we might be changing our venue for reasons that are too numerous to go into now, so I need your help please!Our date is April 10, 2010 and we are looking for a DIY venue that can accommodate roughly 100 people in the DFW area, preferably in the Mid-Cities. We don't want to get married in a chapel and are wanting to get married outside in a gardenish setting. Before you start listing places let me tell you who I have called and already ruled out.Already BookedWinfrey PointA&M GardensYWCAColleyville CenterIrving Arts CenterMcKinney someplace, I forgot the nameRuled OutBarn something in PlanoI used Stephie's post about who is using which vendor and that's how I formulated the above list. I'm out of ideas and resources and we are seriously contemplating going to Mexico to get married. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appriciated! Thanks!

Texas Discovery Gardens? Shananigans had her wedding there and it was beautiful. I don't know if it's DIY though.

Lonesome Dove in grapevine but I am not 100% sure how much you can DIY. Also Austin Ranch in Plano.

I think the Grapevine Municipal Golf Course in Grapevine might be an option too...Hard to find info on it though?

Have you thought about Paradise Cove on Lake Grapevine? I went to a wedding there a few years ago and I was pleasantly suprised, it was nicer than I thought. They will let you bring in your own alcohol but they do the food. They have a gazebo that overlooks the lake and it is a nice one. Might be worth a look. Good luck.

I could be wrong, but I think Paradise Cove will let you bring in your own caterer as well. They still point you towards using their services, though

I second the Ruthe Jackson Center in Gand Prairie. It's beautiful, very affordable, and they have s state-of-the-art PA/sound system.

It's probably not DIY but there's the Cowboy's Golf Club (or whatever). It's very nice!!!! I went to a banquet there a couple of years ago and someone on here recently got married there (or is getting married). You said Mid Cities and I used to live there but I'm completely drawing a blank. I'm sad that the Colleyville Center is closed because I really like that place. I would suggest the Piazza in Colleyville but that's definitely not a DIY place. However, it's very beautiful too.

Thank you ladies for your help. I've looked at Paradise Cove and was NOT impressed. It looked run down and they want you to use ALL their vendors. But I will definitely look into the others that you suggested! Thanks again.

I know that it is a little far north, but The Heard Meseum & Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney is where we are having our wedding. We rented the entire Science & Technology building for 8 hours and for a great price! We are bringing in everything of our o wn, but they provide and set up the tables and chairs according to your design! You can't go wrong! All of the contact info is on their website. Google it and check them out!

Not really. I'd like to stay there, but if there was a place we loved we'd consider traveling outside the Mid-Cities.
