PWC

Anyone else thinking about doing the PWC (aka Post Wedding Chop)? My hair is longer than it has ever been, maybe even longer than my senior year of high school.  I kinda dig the flowy hippy look it gives me, but it is getting to be a nightmare to take care of.  I have always planned on chopping it after the wedding and donating it to a company that makes wigs for cancer patients in honor of my MOH, who is in remission from Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma.  I'm just worried that it still wont be as long as it needs to be and I won't be able to take it anymore!

I took off 8 inches after the wedding and went from a dark "honey" blonde to platinum. It felt great!

I said I was gonna do it the day after the honeymoon!  LOL...but have yet to do it.  And I don't know why.  I hate that it's so long and tangly but...everyone keeps commenting how pretty it is, and it took me at least 2 years to get it this long.  Mine is definitely not long enough for locks of love, maybe I'll wait until it is and then cut it.  Seems like a good reason to have it cut :)

I did a PRE-wedding chop. I tried to grow it out and it got on my very last nerve. So I'm doing 1920's finger waves on the big day and not worrying about it! My hair is super thick, so I don't blame you for hating the nightmare of maintenance. Hang in there!

I am cutting 13 inches off of mine after our wedding.  I am donating it to Locks of Love. You only need 10 inches to donate to them!  You can go to www.locksoflove.com My hair is an absolute nightmare everyday when I have to battle it!  I can't wait to cut it off!  I've had long hair for about 4 years!  It's down to my waist!

I cut all my hair right when we came home from the honeymoon! (not sure how much, but i went from shoulder length hair to a short bob) I think you need 10 inches to donate for locks of love.

I know exactly what you mean. My hair has gotten so long and I dont even have the energy to style it on a regular basis so 9 times out of 10 it's in a pony tail or bun of some sort. Today especically it looks like crap! I'm getting my hair colored and cleaned up tomorrow so hopefully I'll feel better about it.I have threatened to cut my hair after the wedding but everyone keeps commenting on how beautiful it is long, especially FI. I might wait til it gets a little longer and give my hair to locks of love. My stylist said that they'll take it even if it's been colored, so it shouldnt' be a problem. It is getting hard to take care of though!

I'm totally cutting mine too!  It's too much work when it's long.

yes!! I wanted to cut it this summer but I want it long for the wedding so I'm having to stick it out for 11 more months.  Its too thick and it gives me a headache every day.  I'd really like to chop it off before going on our honeymoon! haha
