Poll: What got you hooked on P&amp;E?

For me: I was paging through here one time and came across someone who posted a link to a fake wedding web site called "Rotel Wedding"...she was being really mean about a friend of hers that had less money.P&E ripped her a new a$$hole. From then on I kept checking back for more entertainment.You?

I think that's the exact time I came here too! It felt like a train wreck for me. I just couldn't go away. I thought every one was so mean...but they were funny so I stuck around. After about 2-3 weeks of seeing reposts and stupid questions, I finally got it.

It goes way back - almost 2 years ago now. I was just recently engaged and looking for information about small weddings, surprise weddings and eloping. In doing that, I found true bride confessions. Someone there posted about the wenches on the Knot so I had to come check it out. That shiit is always entertaining.I got here and the crowd included Stefibeth, LikeFrankieSaid, DeliciaPatricia, Terribridelee, the list goes on and on. They were all pretty freaking funny so I stayed.

Last year either late summer or early fall, P&E invaded my club board because some of the members were stirring up sh!t, and I never liked those posters to begin with and thought it was funny, so I stuck around.

When I first got here it was by accident. I was looking for photos. FOrums were all new to me. I don't know how I stubbled upon it. I remember at first thinking, "wow, these chicks are harsh." But, I didn't really understand what was going on. People were GBCKing (i didn't know what that was)... I stuck around because I wanted to understand the drama that was P&E. I didn't even know there were local and club boards for a good month after I started posting/lurking.

It started out with boredom...I like the high traffic here, even if many of the drivers are stupid as can be. But then I "got to know" some of the awesome ladies around here and stuck around for the entertainment that comes out from time to time

ac - I remember that! I don't think there was any one thing that hooked me really. I was wedding planning and found the boards and there was so much great info and so many great ideas, I just got hooked. That and the fact that I don't have enough work to do at work and really needed something to occupy my time!

I started lurking on P&E after my wedding - I had only been on my local board before then. I wanted to see what was so "scary" about the board. A couple days later, the big showdown between majik and butterfly's dreads went down and I jumped in. Never looked back.

I as well love the snark. About 9 months ago I came her by accident and like a black hole, I was sucked in. I lurked for a bit and was horrified (but secretly thrilled) by the innate bitchyyyness of the majority of the regulars. Like someone previously stated, after reading the same dumb questions every other day, I felt comfortable enough to throw in the occassional "your a moron" comment myself. By that time I had got my bio up and running too. We have had some incredible downtime at work too!

I have had to unhook myself because of school and work doesn't allow me on the internet except at lunch. But I like the brutal honesty. The girls aren't going to tell you something is okay to make you feel better.

Checked it out based on a comment from my local board saying how nasty people were here. Didn't find people real nasty but did find people to be entertaining so I read postings daily. Also, had some downtime at work and wanted something to do and this filled my time.

I think bec put it best, someone on another board complained about how mean P&E girls were, and it took me about .2 seconds to head over myself. Not that I am usually a mean person. I just like that you guys say the crap that I am always thinking but typically too timid to say out loud.
