Budget Rehearsal Dinner Brookfield/Danbury

My FH and I just found out that his parents will only be contributing a small amount to the rehearsal dinner. We are footing the majority of the wedding my parents are giving a few thousand so we did not budget for this. Any ideas? I'm almost thinking a VFW or some sort of hall like that and we would bring in Pepe's Pizza. Or if people wouldn't mind sharing what they paid per head in that area and where. I live in Stratford so don't eat up that way often. We looked at Maggie McFly's but the room is weird bc it has a golf simulator. We will be about 50 people. I'm almost thinking we nix the rehearsal we are getting married at the Fox Hill Inn but we have a large bridal party. Thanks all for any insight and recommendations.

  • My sister had her rehersal dinner at Famous Pizza in Bethel. They have a really cute back room and it its deff affordable. They had appitizers (wings, mozzarella sticks, ect), pizza and soda. Its really close to the Fox Hill Inn (probs 10 mins) and she also had about 50 people. I highly suggest it :-)
  • We did ours at Mario's Pasta Garden in Brookfield (45 second drive from Fox Hill), they were fantastic and have a great room in the back. Our rehersal dinner was about 40 people, I think the price per was about $20, but I'm not too sure, DH's parents paid. It was a buffet dinner with chicken parm, stuffed shells, salad, soda, and a few more entrees, I only remember the ones I ate!
  • Two steps in Danbury is fabulous. We did my 30th birthday party upstairs, plenty of room for a rehearsal dinner. Call Tom Devine owner and they will work with you!

I second this!!!!  We had our rehearsal dinner there (and Tom also catered our wedding).  Amazing food, amazing service, and amazing prices!

  • We had ours at Nick restaurant in Danbury and the price was around 25pp.  You can also look into Armando's in Bethel, Augies in Danbury, John Barberie's in Danbury, Italia Mia in New Milford.
If you are at all familiar with danbury: If your looking into renting a VFW there is one near Federal Towing, It is off of Newtown Rd... but sort of at the intersection of Federal Rd and Newtown Rd (becoming White St).  Before the light to TK's bar
