I haven't really thought about being the victim of robbery, but we still haven't decided where to go for the honeymoon. I always have my rings on, so I can see what you mean about your finger feeling naked. Maybe you should just get a set of CZ rings. You will probably use them again.

Sil and Bil have what they call their "Africa" wedding rings. He works in Africa for 3-8 months out of the year (I don't know what he does, he's not allowed to tell) and so he bought an "Africa" ring so that his wedding band wouldn't be stolen. When she went to visit him one year she bought one too (for the same reason). Now it's become a little ritual to put on the rings as he's leaving as a reminder that he'll come back (there is always the very real possibility he won't).

I completely get the "naked without e-ring" feeling. I left for a cruise and forgot my e-ring at home. I bawled like a baby. It was safe at home, but I still went promptly to the store on the ship and bought a fake cocktail ring to wear, to make myself feel less "naked" throughout the week. Plus, I guess I just like the feeling of people seeing it and knowing I'm his. I know, that's a 1950s housewife thing to say. Feminists, flame away!

What are you girls drinking or smoking to make you not realize someone's taking a ring off your finger? I get losing it or damaging it, but that can happen daily. I don't take my e-ring off so I don't know how someone could steal it...just leave it on, or put in somewhere safe...like a hotel safe.

I have had more than one insurance agent tell me that you are more likely to lose your ring or have it stolen when you take it off of your finger. I was told to not take it off, keep it insured and buy a really good jewelry cleaner. My jeweler agrees.
