How to change my name???

I just got my marriage certificate in the mail this weekend, and I've been trying to figure out what order I should do everything in.  For those of you who have already changed their names, or know what I need to do, what order should I do things in?? Should I go down to the Ridgedale service center and get my Driver's License done first?  SS# first?  I feel lost!!TIA!

    The first thing I did was go to the SS office and then to the DMV to get a new drivers license.  You just need your marriage certificate and current DL to change both of those.  The other stuff (bank, credit cards, etc.) you can't change until you get your new DL.  HTH!

    Do I have to go to the SS office first or can I do the DL first without screwing everything up?

    I don't think it matters.  I did both on the same day, but went to the SS office first.

    I did my dl first and then I did my ss. You can call and change your CC at any time. I also almost missed getting on DH's insurance as I thought I needed my marriage cert but did not.  the process is pretty simple. Good luck!

    I went to the DMV first and then the SS office and everything was fine. Just remember to bring cash or check with you to the DMV because they do not take credit or check cards!! You can call credit card and phone companies. For the bank we had to go in to get new checks, cards and sign all our wedding checks that we got together. I've gotten everything with my new name on it except my drivers license- it takes the longest and I have no idea why?!!

    Which service center did you go to Mary? I went to Ridgedale and they took my debit card for my DLS.

    I went to the DMV in Bloomington to change my last name and when I moved here 2 years ago I went to the DMV in Eagan and both times had to write a check.
