My e-ring is a solitaire on a white gold band. Totally what I would have picked for myself. While diamonds are pretty I really wanted to get a plain white gold band of the same width to match my band. I think it's such a classic look that it will never go out of style. I also play very hard and I can wear my band when I don't want to risk the diamond. The religious ceremony also requires that the rings be solid with no precious gems. I didn't want to get married in something and then wear something else, it felt to strange to me. I'm kind of glad about the religious part because then I don't have to justify to people why I didn't feel the need for additional diamonds.

I'm not sure yet but probably some bling. I have my grandmother's ring, and like lpstl's it's an odd shape. I mayy end up having one made. I tried on one that was in a V shape with small diamonds, and that kind of cradled my ring. I also tried on a band with sapphires and FI said the sapphire really brought out my ring more. I LOVE sapphires anyway, so I may end up having a band made with really tiny diamonds and sapphires alternating.

I went with both

We bought a half carat pave band and I am also getting a plain platinum band. Both will be used in the ceremony and I look forward to changing how I wear my rings depending on the situation. I have a cushion solitaire on a 2mm band - both bands are 2mm as well.

Wow Jillz, that is very similar (mine is platinum too). Just to give you an idea my wedding band (in platinum, w/ 7 diamonds, not sure about tw) ran about $1000 to have custom made. They matched everything perfectly though, it looks like an original set. Have you found any plain bands that will go well with it? That's why we did custom, none of the knife edged bands we found were in the same style or thin enough.

Bling! We originally bought a plain white gold band, but I really wanted the band to match. Found the perfect band at a great deal and I was super happy!What I'll do in the future is not wear the ering, just add the plain gold band to the bling band. It's what I did for our hm, and I really like the look and significance of having 2 rings there.PIB, but not of the 2 bands.

Well, since I jumped in the pool today....My e-ring is a small natural sapphire with small diamonds on the sides set in white gold.My wedding ring is an art-deco-y looking ring - dome-shaped with sapphires and diamonds. Also set in white gold. Neither were wedding rings; but they are now! I guess that means I went with bling.FI's is a sand-blasted (non-polished) black tungsten carbide band he will wear when we go out. He can't wear a ring on a daily basis due to work safety regulations.
