Rehearsal, what to do?

Just found out our officiant can't make it. Should we just hold it w/o him? Does he really need to be there? What should we do?!?!?!?TIA!

    Do you have a coordinator at your venue?  They can usually run a rehearsal.  That's who is doing ours.  We're having a cantor and priest and neither one can make it so our event coordinator is going to make sure everyone knows where to be and when.

    I am pretty sure it is the norm for the officiant not to be at the rehearsal.  Usually a coordinator can run it.

    I am having our coordinator run ours but having my aunt stand in as the priest just for visual effect!  you'll be fine w/o them there! It's mostly so the bridal party knows where to walk and stand....

    If this helps... we didn't have a rehearsal at all! And there were no mess ups... Unless you have any really complicated parts to your service then you will be fine having someone else run it.

    It's pretty normal for the officiant not to attend.  (Imagine what it would do to their schedules if they were trying to run to these AND weddings every weekend!)  I'm sure he'll go over everything in detail with you beforehand.

    Our officiant actual did attend and direct our rehearsal. Ours was on a Thursday though. But anyway, I'm glad she was there because we were clueless and we had no DOC or staff at our venue. But if you do have those people, I'm sure you'll be fine!

    ragdolls - I was looking at your website and saw that you used the band Onyx through Washington Talent Agency. I am looking for bands right now through WTA and was recommended Onyx and millenium. How did you like Onyx?
