Reception: How Much Per Head?

If you don't mind sharing... 1. Where are you having your reception? (Type of Venue, Chicago vs. Suburb) 2. How much are you paying per head? 3. What does that include? 4. Does this sound fair to you? 1. Chicago Restaurant 2. $128 (inclusive of taxes/service charge) 3. Room rental, in-house linens/chairs, four course dinner including custom cake (choice of 3 vendors), open bar plus sparkling wine toast/wine with dinner, tasting for up to 4 guests, dinner at the restaurant on your one year anniversary. I think it seems like a pretty competitive price for a city venue, but I don't really know what else is out there. Thanks, gals!

    1. Suburb (Des Plaines)2. Less than half of the price you mentioned (almost 1/3)3. It includes 6hrs reception, 4 or 5 hour d'oeuvres, 4 course dinner (soup, salad, main course, desert), cake, open bar, tasting for 4 people also, chair covers and sashes (any color you choose), wine and champagne with dinner.

What does that include? Butler passed hor d'euvres, 5 course meal, champagne toast, open bar with premium liquor, cake, tasting for up to 4 guests4. Does this sound fair to you? It doesn't sound outrageous.

What does that include? 1.  Holiday Inn in the Burbs2.  $503.  4 course meal, cake, linens, 4 hour hopen bar, champagn toast, unlimited wine, tasting, free night in honeymoon suite, free breakfast, room blocks, wedding planner....
    It's time. Adoption saving and process started in November 2012.

    I don't know what restaraunt you are referring to-but it sounds pretty fair to me. Mine was at the Hotel Allegro, I think we ended up around $130/head w/ out linnens/chair rental. Everything else you mentioned was included except for the 1 year anniversary.

    1) The Hilton Garden Inn in Des Plaines 2) I think it was like $72 per person, including tax and gratuity 3)5 course meal, 4 passed hourderves(sp?), top shelf 4 hour open bar, wedding cake, Tax and Gratuity, free nights stay on the wedding night, free breakfast the morning after, anniversary stay, linens and napkins, champaign toast and wine service w dinner I HIGHLY reccomend my venue if you're a person looking to have a city wedding without the price tag.  Des Plaines is just outside the city and we are having our ceremony within the city and going to this hotel just outside the city is saving us atleast $10,000.

    First off, I think for an in-city venue, including bar and rentals, you got an excellent price.  1.  Loft space in city - independent caterer2. $125 pp 3.  This included food, service, and rentals.  It does not including rental fee for location or alcohol

About 85 pp, not including tax and gratuity3. What does that include? 6 hr reception, appetizers, 4 course dinner, cake, linens and chair covers, centerpieces, open bar, wine with dinner, champagne toast, bridal suite (2 nites), rooms for both sets of parents (2 nites), tasting for 5 guests, 1 yr anniversary stay at hotel4. Does this sound fair to you?Yes, it was a little more expensive than some places in the burbs, but it included so much.

    1. Where are you having your reception? (Type of Venue, Chicago vs. Suburb) Country club in Mt Prospect2. How much are you paying per head? Paid between $50 & $62 (depending on entree choice)3. What does that include? Appetizers during cocktail hour, 6 hours of open bar, 5 course sit down dinner, custom cake from Continetial Bakery in Mt Prospect, and gratuity. 11% tax was the only thing added to the bill. 4. Does this sound fair to you? Yeah, it sounds good. We were going to have the reception at Maggiano's downtown and it would of been about $125/pp w/ tip & tax

Appetizers, 6 hour reception, 4 hours of open bar, 4 course meal, cake, and chair covers (I'm sure there is more but nothing is coming to mind)4. Does this sound fair to you? Yes.  It was a little more than what we wanted to pay but the room is beautiful and we both really love this place.

    That sounds really good but keep in mind Tax and Gratuity. Ours was an extra 4k

    1) Ours is in the city- Maggianos at Clark and Grand 2) 78.00-97.00 per persond depending on the package we go with, and the numbers we get back on our RSVPs, but we have to hit the Saturday night minimum...3) includes everything, 5 hours of drinks, linens, tables, chairs, cake, LARGE amounts of food...  ** dont forget tax and gratuity, that added a couple grand to our bottom line for sure!

    1. hotel downtown2. that's all gonna depend on what we choose--we're doing some major alterations to the menu to bring the pp cost down to nearly 106-112pp3. room, basic white linens and chairs, appetizers and sig. cocktail/open bar cocktail hr, 3 course dinner, cake, we eliminated the champagne toast in favor of bringing our own thing in, wine with dinner, open bar total of 5 hours (I think), honeymoon suite, tasting w/ 4 ppl, room block4. I think we're getting a good deal of stuff for our money. They're being flexible with our budget and letting us alter the menu, so that's nice, and we are getting a winter discount on our food/bev minimum

    That sounds very similar to my venue. In fact, it sound like it to the tee although we don't get to chose the cake vendor. I wonder if it's the same one!!

    I wonder which restaurant you're talking about :)  Seriously though, I don't think you'll find a better price right in the middle of the city and the food can't be beat.  Suburban prices are much lower, but we thought it was worth the extra cost to be in downtown Chicago.  The downtown hotels were much pricier and the food was not even comparable.  I think you'd be happy with this choice and you'll be getting a good deal.

    Haha, Jamie, you do!? ;)  Yeah, so I went to visit!  I like the space a lot, though because of our small guest list, they want to close off the room in a way that doesn't make it very open or flowy.  Also, the coordinator hasn't really been up to par.  I am still leaning that way though. :) I would love to see some more pictures if you have them and wouldn't mind sharing!

What does that include? six hour reception, hors d'oeurves, 5 course dinner including intermezzo,  four and a half hours of open bar, ice sculpture, mini fountain, custom wedding cake, champagne parade with champagne toast, accommondations for the night (with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries!), option to get Hyatt Gold points for future stays, standard linens, mirror with votive candles, and we just found out that we get two uplights.4. Does this sound fair to you? I think it's pretty competitive!

If we don't meet minimum, we will be adding late night snacks as well, which increases the price per person.4. Does this sound fair to you? Its very fair considering the research we did.
