Hi All - I didn't post here much during my planning, but I did use the boards a lot for vendor recommendations. I thought I'd share some of my vendor reviews with all of you. If you have questions, please email me at melanie dot 186 at gmail dot com. Thanks!Pebble Creek Golf Course, Reception: While sometimes Mary at Pebble Creek could be hard to get ahold of, she always came through, and our reception was beautiful. We had 150 guests, and they set up everything for the day. The downstairs room overlooks their gazebo and pond which was beautiful for photos, and they had a great patio for guests to get away. They also have amazing food, and we got many compliments from our guests on it. ASweet Water Bakehouse, Cake: We liked Becca as soon as we met her. She was very energetic and her cake tasted great. We loved our finished product, and it tasted awesome! AA Savannah Nite, Transportation: We really liked that they could break up our time into increments so that we didn't have to pay to have the limo wait through our entire reception time. The party bus that we had was awesome to ride in, and the chauffeur was on time and very courteous. ABryan's Flowers and Gifts, Flowers: Sara at Bryan's was so nice to work with! She really did a great job taking my ideas and turning them into the flowers that I wanted. She also allows you to borrow her vases and votives for reception centerpieces, which saved us a lot of time and money. AMillenia Sound, DJ: Greg works as a DJ on the side, and we had seen him in action before. He did a great job of making sure he played a good mix of music, and didn't blare the music so guests could both dance and talk at the reception. A Jenna, MAC Cosmetics Tri-County, Makeup: She did both my shower and bridal makeup, and did a great job. She was so sweet, and really took the time to make sure that everything was perfect. AGEDesigns (Etsy), Monograms: We had two monograms made for our wedding, and they turned out great. We used them everywhere. I would recommend having one made if you are DIYing a lot of projects, and need a theme, but don't have the design skills to make one yourself. ALucky Clover, Photography: We really loved working with them. We haven't gotten our finished product yet, but we loved our engagement photos, so I'm sure we'll love our wedding pictures. The value of what they provide is amazing. They were with us for most of the day, and they were both personable and professional. We can't wait to see our photos! A+Tatiana Cameron, Ceremony Musician: Tajci was a central European superstar when she was younger, and has since moved to Cincinnati where she tours nationally at Catholic churches. She has an AMAZING voice! I really thought her musical talent made our ceremony much more special. If you are having a Catholic wedding in Cincinnati, I would highly recommend contacting her via her website to have her sing. A+Johanna Oliver, Alterations: Johanna took my $249 sample dress from the Running of the Brides sale at Filene's Basement and made it look brand new. It was incredible. She cleaned all the stains from the dress, and fixed the beadwork that had fallen off. She was so particular about making everything perfect. I can't say enough about how good of a job she did! A+Cincinnati Zoo, Penguin Appearance: Yes, we had a penguin at our reception. We originally wanted to have our reception at the Newport Aquarium or Zoo, but couldn't due to various reasons. Instead, we had the zoo come to us. The bird show sent their penguin, Charlie, for an hour to greet our guests as they came into the reception. It was Charlie's first appearance at a wedding, and it was a big hit! A+Vinoklet Winery, Rehearsal Dinner: Vinoklet has a great atmosphere, but they really dropped the ball on our rehearsal dinner. They put us in the wrong location, didn't have enough seats for the number of confirmed guests, and tried to raise the prices they had quoted us for meals. We were very frustrated with the whole experience. D
