I just dropped off my wedding dress at Becky's yesterday, and she will have it ready for me today at 3. What a wonderful lady! All my jewelry came in the mail yesterday! I take my bridals on Sunday!

Oh, and everytime I try on my dress, I remember why I bought it. I love it. I had moments where I thought maybe I should have waited, but as soon as I try it on again, I know I made the right choice.

I am soooo lucky that I didn't get a teaching job for this year. I get to go to the returning Substitute training this morning. Woo-hoo!

*I came home and FI had rearranged and cleaned up our apartment..and he even had dinner started. I was so suprised!!! He told me all he wanted me to do is come home and relax. I tried to help with dinner and he wouldn't let me help him. It was great. But felt weird to just sit there and do nothing. Star treatment....its GREAT! *Our rent went down and now its almost half of what we use to pay!!!* WOO HOO!!!*Too bad daycare is going up...*

*Today is my Friday!!! *I'm going out with a group of girls on Saturday and I can't wait! *My student loan payment went down another $20 and so did Steve's!  I think it's because we're doing the automatic debit.  That extra savings is awesome! *We're meeting with a loan officer on Wednesday to get the ball rolling on looking at houses!

Oh, and everytime I try on my dress, I remember why I bought it. I love it.Me too!  I have my fitting with Becky Saturday.  I got a ton of checks done this month already: favors and tags, ribbon, etc. for OOT boxes, ordered postage for my invites, got the correct color ribbon for my invites so those are being made finally, finished candy boxes, picked first dance song and started music selection.  I'm 3 months away tomorrow!  I can't believe it!

I got my veil yesterday. It was perfect. Thank you ladies who suggested Veils by Leslie V. However, I feel extremely behind on other areas of the wedding. I wish I had an extra 2 months. I am ready to finish up my living room. I am tired of walking through plastic everyday just to get through the house.

J's work just told us today they want to throw us a wedding shower on Sept. 17th.  How nice of them to do that! Becky told me yesterday that I should not have my dress cleaned due to all the hand beading and since she is taking up the hips, I don't need a crinoline.  That means I have about $150 extra in my budget now.  Yay for saving money.

I finished up my bio website last night and got it linked to my siggy.  It's kind of exciting.  I will be adding honeymoon pictures later. We finally got our disk of our engagement pictures in Aggieland.  I added one to my siggy.  It cost me quite a bit of money but it was worth it.  Today I'm going out to a local craft store with a student's mom.  Her husband works for the chain and she offered me her discount.  I'm buying enough stuff for two scrapbooks.  I can't wait. We got one of the time slots to do the pictures at the Fair from Jacqui.  Bill is really excited about that one.Last one, I promise.  I mentioned it the other day but the vet we saw Tuesday said that we should try medicine with Sally and her hyperthyroid.  I probably won't have to have a radioactive cat at all!

Fi and I will have been engaged for a full year a week from today.  What a year! I can't believe that it's been that long, but I can't wait for October 11th to hurry up and get here!

Can someone tell me what the heck a crinoline is?  I see all these "dying my crinny" references.  Is it like a petticoat?  Do I need one?  I'm clueless.  I guess Becky can tell me Saturday.

I'm going dress shopping on Saturday.  Eek, exciting but scary!
  • edited December 2011
Stephie, you don't need one for your dress.  But yes, it's like a petticoat :)

I'm jealous about taking pics at the fair...those will be so cool!I didn't think I was going to have anything AW about because our tasting was canceled for tonight and I wasn't able to book our honeymoon BUT I just booked our honeymoon which has been a trip in itself. We have changed our minds about 10 times, if not more, for our honeymoon.  We were going to do a train trip to New York and then it became just  New York, then it became Tennessee, then it was either Pittsburgh or Kentucky, we chose Kentucky so we could drive but then I didn't get the time off I wanted so we went back to New York.  And Colorado was in there somewhere as was Seattle.  I'm a little nervous about flying but 7 nights at the Roosevelt here we come!  There's a lay over in Atlanta.

Tiffany, it will be okay!!  I wasn't thrilled with dress shopping AT ALL.  I'm not a shopper anyways but it wasn't bad at all. What places are you going to go to?

Shortgirl,The Roosevelt!?!?!?!?!?!?!  I'm jealous.  That's a great hotel and, if I remember correctly, a great location.  The flying will be fine.

Shortgirl-   Since it's the first time I'm actually going to a place in Sherman (near my hometown) called Bridal Elegance because my family and bridesmaids mostly live there. They have Watter's which I am excited about because from looking at pictures online I LOVE them.   I'm not attached to any designers though... more of what looks and feels great and is in my budget. :)

Julie-  I know nothing about New York but I'm pretty sure we got it for a steal!  One of the sites I saw was saying "A savings of $4597"...I didn't go with that site but we didn't pay much more.  I'm really grateful we got what we got!Tiffany-  Watters is gorgeous!  Have fun and be sure to eat somethign beforehand and bring some water along (you may have to hide it though!).

Yeah, there are some over priced hotels up there.  I would love to stay at the Waldorf=Astoria but we could only afford the closet (that's not what they call it but I'm pretty sure that would be the size of the room).  Just be prepared for smaller rooms in NYC.  They are still bigger than European hotel rooms though.  I would advise you to stay away from Golden Touch Transfers.  They were late to pick us up both times AND they ruined one of my suitcases.

Less than a month until the wedding!! On a not AW side note -- thank you guys so much for all of your help so far in the planning process! I know I kind of bounce in and out of the message boards but you guys are all so helpful! :)

We are going to San Antonio next week for a mini-vacation and I just realized that it will be a year since J proposed while we are there :) can't believe its been that long. Any recommendations for things to do while we are there? Other than the beautiful riverwalk.I am also waiting to hear back about a job that I applied for in the beginning of July. I have had an interview and we have been emailing back and forth, but it will be nice to finally hear a yes or no. I am anxious! And a little bit ready to move on if I don't get it.
