DH's 30th is in September and I finished most of the checks for his surprise b-day party today. I'm having it at a local 60s throwback diner that is well-known out here for their grilled cheese sandwiches (they have 30 types). It's going to be a kid's pirate themed party - since he loves pirates. I've pretty much bought out the new pirate decoration section at our local Michaels. There's going to be a grilled cheese buffet and then make your own sundaes. And of course cake! I finalized a 3-D Pirate Cake today from a bakery out here. Here's a sample picture of the cake!     Mmmm, grilled cheese, sundaes, and pirate cake?  People of all ages can definitely enjoy that!

    Sorry Pirata, we live in New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia. It sucks a little because I really want to share how excited I am with him and I can't. It would ruin the surprise.

    You are the BEST wife ever, Shannon! That completely rocks! So your birthday is coming up, when is his birthday?! That's neat that you guys are close together.  And he is SO going to love it and love you for doing it all! :)

    October 2012: DH Dx: Testicular Cancer -- Left Orchiectomy
    December 2012: F/U CT Scan -- All clean!
    January 2013: Starting the adoption process!

    Jen, I was going to ask how you knew my birthday was coming up, but then I realized it has to be FB. His is September 10th. I've had the diner booked since the second week in January though.

    Because I'm an awesome stalker?!? Duh.And because of the cause on FB for... something...  (I can't remember what it is but it was a good cause!)  That's what you said you wanted for your BIRTHDAY.  :P

    That sounds amazing! My DH hates birthdays, but you planning a surprise party for yours is awesome! You can share all the details with us so you don't break down and tell him the surprise!
