Weird Phobias or fears

Re: Weird Phobias or fears

  • I have this really irrational fear that I'm going to die of an aneurysm.  There is absolutely nothing in my medical or family history that would support that, but whenever I get an odd, unexplained twinge in an extremity, or especially a bad headache, I get convinced it's a blood clot that's going to move it's way to my brain and explode and kill me.  Like, starting to have a panic attack convinced.

=) I'm okay now....he got his just desserts when he tried that crap one too many times and I had high heels on and punted him in the nut sack.  That was my break up signal.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Weird Phobias or fears : I hear ya! I went snorkeling in the Caribbean only because my mom was in the water and I didn't want her to go alone! I didn't enjoy it though - I floated there looking around for shark fins. I was having a friggin heart attack! And there is no way in hell I'd ever let N free swim with great whites, even if it was his passion or life goal. No friggin way!

He can only do the great white free dive prior to us having kids or me being pregnant.

I'm a distance swimmer and love the water but there is something about snorkeling and scuba diving that makes me slightly claustrophobic as well as afraid of sharks and other fish with sharp teeth.
  • i'm afraid of seaweed b/c i don't know what in it, and high grasses for the same reason.

Fi is scared of his belly button coming untied and his innards coming out.
  • I have a huge bridge phobia.  I have panic attacks while driving over them..which then heightens my anxiety bc I'm afraid I will pass out bc of the panic and then drive off the bridge.  Small ones don't bother me - its any bridge that arcs - like suspension bridges.

The weird part is that my mom has always been afraid of them.  I used to tease her about it.  Then I slowly noticed that I would be uncomfortable on the bridge.  Then it got worse and worse.  I will drive an hour out of the way to avoid bridges.

I'm thinking of trying hypnosis to get rid of it...anyone ever try this?

[QUOTE]Balloons popping, sharks attacking me in lakes/pools, a bridge collapsing while I'm on it, an underwater tunnel exploding while I'm in it (we drove through one in Baltimore last weekend - eek!)

I used to live in Baltimore. I hated the tunnels at first, but then I grew to love them. It's cool knowing your down under the harbor. However, I ALWAYS looked for drips!
  • I'm terrified of squirrels. Everytime I walk past one I feel like it is staring at me waiting to pounce. I also have a fear that I am going to wake up with bugs and snakes all over me..kinda like in the movie Witches of Eastwick. As far as the wedding goes...i'm terrified I'm going to get preggo before the wedding.

    DENTIST. Mega-super so.

    Ducks, chickens, turkeys.

    Lizards, snakes, frogs.

And I'm not fond of clowns or crowded elevators, and have no desire to drive in the chunnel.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • I refused to drive the Chunnel, so we had to pay to take the ferry.

  • I was attacked by a peacock four years ago and have a nasty scar on my ankle and I've been to a zoo once since then and had a panic attack when I saw the peacock.
I hate deer. HATE deer. One attacked me when I was 15 so every time I see one I cry and run away.
And flies. I have this irrational fear that they're going to fly into my ears and have babies and then their babies are gonna be flying around inside my head muching on my brain :/
I can't get any shots or have my blood drawn without having to take valium and passing out, but I have lots of tattoos?

  • chickens and lightning.

Chickens are creepy and should only be seen in meat aile of the supermarket (sorry if there's any vegitarians or PETA people on here).  They stink, eat their own crap and spread disease....

Lightning not thunder, I like the noise but am terrified of the "finger of God", think my parents may be responsible for that one.
