So i saw your engagement photos in your Bio and I liked them a lot..so i contacted Jacob from NoDo and have a meeting setup with him soon. But i had a few questions for you.

1) Did you look at other photographers other than Jacob? What made you choose him? We are meeting with Giovanni in Larchmont too since Villa Barone Hilltop recommended him. Jacob and Giovanni are the only 2 photogrpahers I have meetings set up with. But i do like Blue Sky too and may set one up with them too.
I am into the photojournalistic style.

2) What are his prices like? I received his pricing package but dont need every item in each package he offers. Does he negotiate failrly? Does he give you the right to the photos?
We might need a 2nd photographer as well, since we are having the ceremony at VB Hilltop too...so we will only have 1 hour to take pictures during the cocktail hour. Did you have 2 photographers?

3) Did Jacob and Anthony (videographer) offer you a package deal? I really dont want to spend more than $6k on both things.

Ya know, I looked at a lot of photographers online and it took me a long time to find someone that I liked. At a point I gave up because I couldn't what I wanted in a decent price range and came on here to vent. A knottie who had recently got married, Diana, mentioned to me her husband is a photographer, so I checked out his blog and I was in love. I met with Jake and knew I wanted him as my photographer after seeing all of his books and talking to him. So l searched everywhere online, but met with no one other than him in person. What made me choose Jake was, well there's two things. I wrote these in my review for him last week. First is because he is seriously one of the nicest people that I've ever met. He cares so much about the couples that he works with, it's amazing. And obviously because his work is amazing; you can't choose someone if you don't love their work. But more there's a quality about him that I adore. I've never met a man who loves his wife more than he does. Jake speaks so highly of Diana, and his love for his wife reflects through on his couples, and he captures the romance and love that the couple has for one another.

His prices have most likely changed since I booked him in 2008. If you don't need every item, I would talk to him about it. He will help you with what's best for you trust me. He does give you the rights the photos. And a 2nd photographer was included in my package so we had her. We ended up not having the cocktail hour, it's a long story, but Jake made up for it where he could because we were limited.

No, no package deal, they're seperate vendors they have just worked together before. I know Anthony's prices have changed as well and I'm not sure what they're like now. Anthony is awesome as well, he's a great guy and does great work. If you're interested I would contact him; he works for MSNBC so he knows what he is doing. I know I'm getting my teaser video in a couple weeks so when I get it I will post it for you.

If you love Jake's photos (which are definitely gorgeous), two similar photographers are Jerome Braga of Studio 1923 (who actually shot Jake and his wife Diana's wedding) and Ricky Restiano.

Thanks Jaimie. I contacted Anthony to see about his video prices. I just need to try and keep our photos and video no more than $6k, so i'm hoping both Anthony and Jacob can make it happen!

Kristin - I looked into Ricky Restiano because i loved his work, but he is already booked for our wedding date. They said that Anthony was still available there though. I just think it might be too expensive to use them because i will most likely need a 2nd photographer for the day and Park Place seems too expensive with that option. I do love their work though!
