Re: interesting read

  • Wait, did you read the part about the kissing disease?  She got mono from and drinking fountain and it comes back every now and then.   Bitch, that's not mono, that's herpes.
  • pinkpinot: Yes, I looked at it and I think think it's horrid.  Thoughts?  And I'm wondering what a "Keeper" is, too?  Did I miss something? lol

[QUOTE]That's cool, the problem with the King James Version is that parts of it are blatantly wrong and have been corrected based on findings in the Dead Sea Scrolls in newer versions of the bible.  A lot of hardcore Evangelicals cling to the King James Version because parts of it say what they want it to say rather than what it actually says.

Oh yeah, this is crazy. I would be fascincated in grad school by the kids who knew Greek, Aramaic, Hebrew etc. and would talk about what the passages mean in the original language. The different meanings and multiple words for love, sin, and death alone are enough to make some one change their views on what the Bible is actually saying.

Ah, okay. I don't know - my FI sometimes looks a lot older than me. He's 8 years older, but some people think I have a youngish looking face. I don't think her H looks THAT old.

Whatever Lala. Her parents clearly arranged this marriage, so they're okay with it!

  • All I have to say is, I agree with your sig.  Dammit, I'd love if my lips would stop peeling!  The only stuff I've ever found that doesn't make it worse is the mint Chapstick.  But of course, that isn't sold here.

The only thing missing from her proposal story pictures are the dozen roses that she says he brought in. I don't see them in any of the pictures.

    - Nevermind, I see them now on the table.

Not really.  I got Mono for the first time when I was 7, and had been in and out of the hospital.  It doesn't have to be transmitted mouth to mouth.  Also, I've had 4 recurrences some of them major, throughout my life. So, no, it's not herpes.

My old roommate was raised that way. Hypocritically enough, both her mother and grandmother had SOME college. My roommate won a scholarship but was told, "Why polish the decks on a sinking ship? The bible will teach you all you need to know about the next life. Jesus is coming any day. You don't need to learn anything that He can't teach you." So no college for her.

I've never seen so much nonsense in one place.  So the Bible says she is only supposed to be a housewife and mother?  And that children shouldn't leave home until they're married?  Yeah, I've read the Bible about a million times, and it doesn't say anything like that.
  • oh lord. This woman is BSC. Don't go to college, you'll be leaving the authority of your parents!

  • I am kinda surprised they even know how to kiss on their wedding day.

And it scares me that people are really that dependant on their parents and their faith that they refuse to leave their homes and better themselves.
  • Her entire goal in life was finding "a godly husband."

    That's kind of...sad.
