Groom superstions?

FI were talking about the background of a veil, and the something old, something new..ect, and we both couldn't think of 1 "thing" a groom needs to wear, have on hime ect... Does anyone know any, or is "not seeing the bride" the only thing?

Re: Groom superstions?

  • My bad with the TO'S sry
  • you're right! i can't think of anything.  i have never thought of that before.
  • There is a very old tradition that is mostly lost in today's time. For good luck, the groom should give a coin to the first person he meets on his way to the church. My Fi will have a gold dollar coin in his pocket and will give it to the first person he comes across on his way.
  • There are a few like the coin or a piece of iron in his pocket or a grain of wheat in his pocket.  Then there is the not dropping the ring and not looking over his shoulder while the bride walks down the aisle.  Not wearing gold until the rings are exchanged and green the day before.  As with the bridal traditions there are diff cultural stories to these hence why most Americans don't know them.
