I was going to try to leav eon the 3:45 bus (to beat all that traffic that will be leaving the seminar!), but I just got scheduled for a 4:00 meeting. Boo!

Ha! Thankfully, she lives a whole hour away from us, and our house is out of the way for her if she's heading home from downtown.

The Steelers concert and column unveiling also start at 3:30, which I'm sure will add to traffic chaos.

Yeah, Jenn...sometimes I think about that.  Would I rather have a job that I love with a longer commute and no knotting?  Hmmmm.
  • edited December 2011
I work exactly 8 miles from home, but it takes 45 minutes in the morning, 25 minutes in the afternoon.  If I leave after 4:30 it can take up to an hour. Ugh ugh ugh. Stupid DC traffic!

Skyblue - I used to live in DC, and it was the same thing! I commuted from Vienna to McLean- seriously about 8 miles. Some days it took me a half hour, others would take HOURS when it was backed up. I don't miss that at all!

I hate the thought of a long commute any more. When I lived in Ft. Lauderdale it was brutal! 5 miles=30 minutes. but now I live close enought o the city and travel way in the mornings and towards the city in the evenings. nice commute. but I too can't wiat to be out of here. Chicken salad gave me a belly ach enow I need my couch :(

Yeah, I don't miss my DC commute either...other than reading on the train.  ;)

New - I work in McLean! If I could take the metro it wouldn't be bad, but sitting in completely stopped traffic is just awful!  They are extending the metro out this way, but it won't be done for like 4 more years. Grr.

And even *when* the metro one day makes it out, it'll only stop at Tyson's, right? I technically worked in Langley, so I'd still need to be driving if I lived/worked in nova!
  • edited December 2011
Yeah it will only stop in Tyson's the head out to Dulles. I work in Tyson's for the next two months, then I'll be working near Dulles, so it would work either way :p
