Monday Morning Check In

Hey ladies!!  I stayed on track all week again and added exercise.  I stayed at 1400 calories/day and did 4 - 40 minute walks on the treadmill at an incline.  I didn't lose anything!  I have been losing until I added working out this week!  Very frustrating!  Is it possible that I could already be building muscle this early in?  I can't beleive that I hit a wall so soon.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Does your body just take awhile to adjust?  I was losing between 2 and 4 pounds a week just dieting before.  Ugh!!  I guess my goal is really toning and losing inches since I don't weigh all that much, but I have the magic number of 120 in my head and now I am still 9 pounds away...

How did you ladies do?

I was a lot more careful about measuring correct proportions.  I seriously need to go grocery shopping for more produce, but it's too darn cold today to drag the little one out.

I went to the doc last week and found out that I lost a total of 7lbs in 2 weeks.  Can't complain.  Unfortunately, when you're really overweight, you don't notice any weight loss less than 25lbs so I still have a long way to go before anyone can really tell.  My dress fitting is in 2 days and I'm praying I can avoid the corset back!

My daughter is off school today, so we're going to do some Just Dance on the wii, along with her Nick Jr. fitness game - which is actually a lot harder than I thought it would be.  lol

  • I am too scared to get on the scale but I am feeling less bloated so I am hoping that is a good thing.  FI was out of town last week so if DD was asleep when I picked her up I couldn't go to the gym so that was frustrating.  He is gone again this week so I am hoping she stays awake long enough for me to go to yoga, the gym has daycare.  I am trying on my dress Saturday to see if it needs to be let out or not and I am scared.

  • I think I did pretty well this week. I did totally cheat for restaurant week on Wednesday, but it was worth it. Other than that, though, I've done pretty well sticking to the diet, even when we've eaten out (just getting a salad or some veggie dish or something). I think I'm looking a bit smaller, though I also just started my period which makes me bloat up and feel fat so it's hard to tell. Plus, FI seriously doesn't get this diet thing so keeps suggesting food ideas that really don't work. Slightly frustrating...
  • I'm stuck at 6 but my period is coming so I'm normally up then anyway...... Plus I'd was FI birthday so I had fried Oreos........ They were worth it ;)
  • I would keep an eye on portions. My FI is big into fitness. He worked out with a trainer and He told FI that it takes 4-6 weeks to build 1lb of muscle. It could be water weight, or you just need to shock your system and try something new.

I have been maintaining my weight. I worked out yesterday and ran for 35 minutes straight on the tread. My goal is to continue with that atleast two more times this week.

  • Thanks Christine.  I caluclate every calorie that goes into my mouth and have been keeping at 1300-1400 a day.  So I don't think it's the food unless I need to drop it to 1200, which seems low when you are working out.  Maybe it's just the water..  I'll give it about 2 more weeks and see what happens.  I'll start measuring inches as well.
