Recommend your...

Goodmorning all! We took the trailblazer to our mechanic last night before buying, and he said definitely not to buy that one. Needed some work, even at only 40,000 miles. So please recommend your large SUV or Truck! We’re clueless as to what to look at next!

We have a 2005 Explorer Limited.  Love it.  3rd row seats, totally loaded.  Seats are easy to put up and down for cargo space.  I drive a tiny coupe and can drive the Explorer easily, it is very easy to see out all the windows and to steer.

Not sure if you are looking for new or used, but DH has a Dodge Journey and we like it a lot.  The base price isn't too bad and there are a lot of options. Will he qualify for Cash for Clunkers?

DH has a GMC Sierra truck.  The only major repair he had was a new transmission, but he's over 120,000 miles.  I think his next vehicle may be a Yukon.  It's big enough for him to be comfortable in (most vehicles aren't!)  I work with two guys who both love their Yukons. My dad swears by his Ford 150.

No he won’t qualify for cash for clunkers unless we repair the transmission in his Silverado (a $2500 investment for only $3500 in incentives). Our credit qualifies us for the 0% interest anyways which is another big perk of the cash for clunkers. We looked at new GMCs, but I can’t see investing that kind of $ in a vehicle I can’t drive comfortably. I have a Chevy Equinox, but he says that is too small for him. His Silverado had 207, 000 miles on it, so it was a good one :-D

That's our problem too, DH's truck is too big for me to feel comfortable driving, and when he rides in my grand am, his knees are (literally) on the dash.  What about any of the crossovers that may not have such a big/high feeling?  But they probably don't have as much cargo space.

My husband drives a Chevy Silverado.  This is his 3rd or 4th one.  He's always driven nothing but pick-ups or vans. (He has to have one for his business.)He says that the Silverado is the best truck he's ever driven.  He's getting very good gas mileage, too.  He can get 21 mpg on the highway. He has the tricked-out, fancy Silverado, 4x4, extended cab, heated leather seats, etc.  You don't even know that you are riding in a truck.
