guest book/signature mat?

Here is my question. We are getting a free signature mat picture from our photographer, should we still have a guest book??TIA

No, you don't need a guest book (unless you want one) if you are doing the signature mat.I would make sure everyone knows to sign the mat, though. If you aren't having a guest book attendant, print up a sign for the mat.About 3 years ago my cousin got married and had a signature mat.  It was a very new thing up here and I went to sign it at the reception hall (bride and groom hadn't arrived yet) and everyone freaked out and yelled at me not to do that.  So I didn't... and neither did anyone else. After the wedding, my cousin was upset because no one had signed the mat.

Nah, no need for a guest book. I also all up for signs. print them to match your stationery and put them in a nice frame on the "guest book" table.

I made a photobook for guests to sign and brought it to the rehearsal to have the wedding party sign early.  I also had a sign next to it at the reception.
