Marriage License Question - sorry if this is dumb

I looked on the website and all I see that we need to bring with us to get our license is our drivers licenses. Is that really it? No birth certificate? I'm not missing anything am I?

Depends on where you go.  I actually called the court house that I am going to to see what we really needed to take.  They need our license and birth certificate.  We first looked on their website but it wasn't any help so thats why I called.  I suggest that even if you don't think you need it, bring it any way.  never hurts to have extra documents.

Just and FYI if you are getting married in Ham. County you can also apply online. My fiance, being his very organized and helpful self, did ours the other day and we received an email letting us know we were approved and ready to come pick it up. I think it will save some time. We were told to bring the birth certificates as well.

I live in Greene County, and per the website all I need is a driver's license as long as it has my current address and DOB. Or, you can bring a birth certificate and SS card instead.

I love online...I'm going to check it out right now. I'm afraid FI isn't going to find his birth certificate by tomorrow (although I'm the one with stuff in boxes everywhere). It really says you only need id but I don't want to have to go again! Thanks!

We live in Kenton County and are getting married in Kenton County, and since we're both over 21, we only need a license.

We got license about six weeks ago in Hamilton County and did not need a birth certificate. All we needed were our drivers' licenses. If either of you have been married before, you need an official copy of your divorce decree too.

I wish that I could get some more clear answers on what we need.  hehe  We are getting married in Dearborn Cty, IN and we have gotten multiple different answers and online is all together something different.  Its on my list to call next week b/c we will be within our window to get this done.

We got our marriage license in Hamilton County in early June and did not need birth certificates only our driver's license. After you are married, the priest or officiant will fill out the license and send it back to the office. Then they will send you back the 'official' marriage license. If you are changing your name, you take that wedding license to the social security office which is downtown in the federal building. It is VERY busy there and I waited an hour in the middle of the day. You will need your birth certificate, original soc. security card, drivers id, and the marriage license. It is a free service so it doesn't cost anything. After that is complete you will receive your new soc. security card in the following two weeks. With the soc. security 'receipt' that I had and my marriage license, I was able to change my name at National City, 5th3rd, Chase, and get a new drivers license. I'm still waiting on my new soc card so I can offically change my name at work :) I hope I made this process easier for someone. It took me a long time and lots of phone calls to figure out!

just a note about the SS office...i went to the one in Reading (on Reading just south of the Cross County) it was a very short wait, 20 minutes maybe, on a friday afternoon. There is a DMV right across the street as well, so you just take your printouts (make sure you get 2 pages, i had to go back to ss) across the street and get a new license.
