2 Casual wedding?

My DH's uncle is getting married on Saturday and its a very casual wedding. The groom is wearing a white t-shirt with tux painted on and the groomsman is wearing a black t-shirt with tux painted on. No, I'm not kidding. So DH said the bride is probably just wearing a sundress. It's outside in North Park basically a picnic the way DH is explaining it. He says he's going to wear jeans. I have no clue how to dress for this. What would you wear? TIA Also, my sister is going to a casual wedding but the boys are wearing real tuxes there and the bride told her to wear a light summer dress. Do you think this is too dressy or is it ok? http://tinyurl.com/kou397

That may be a bit dressy.  I'd probably go with either a really casual sundress or skirt.  I don't think I'd do shorts or anything like that - although there may be others there that are that casual.

The wedding in the park - if it were me, I would wear a cute sun dress and flip flops. The dress for the second wedding is very cute.  I think it will work well.

Oh - I answered wrong. :)  For the second wedding for your sister, I like the dress - I think it would work. For the first (DH's Uncle) I do a casual sundress or skirt.

    Ditto what they said!

I agree w/ PP, a sundress and flip flops would be perfect. We're going to a casual beach wedding this weekend. I had trouble finding a sundress for some reason. I ended up buying a really cute prairie skirt @ Target.

Thanks. I love that dress my sister got, I might just go get it for work :) I think I'm going to call DH's mom and ask her what she's wearing because he told me she's wearing shorts! It's her brother i just don't see her wearing shorts to her brother's wedding.

I also love the dress your sister got!  The price isn't all that terrible either considering it's Ann Taylor. It sounds like an interesting wedding.  I guess if everyone else is wearing jeans and shorts... I jsut don't think I could do it ,though.  I'd be worried about being under dressed.

sonya - I'm worried about being under-dressed as well. Something tells me it's so wrong to wear shorts to a wedding. But I also don't want to be overdressed by wearing a sundress and being the only one there besides the bride that 'dressed' up. That would be awkward. Oh it should be a very interesting wedding.

You'll have to let us know how it goes!  Don't worry too much.  A sundress is casual everyday wear.  I don't think anyone can think you're ridiculous for wearing a dress to a wedding, either.

For your DH's uncle's wedding, I'd probably wear a sundress and flip flops or a casual cotton skirt and a nice tank top.  I think sundresses are pretty casual and cute for outdoor things.  Totally picnic wedding appropriate. I love your sister's dress!
